Hi Alan,
I do love the work on the rigging very skilful, as Dave said it is sad to see the end of a build,154 pages! that's a record in it's self on this Forum, that alone shows the time and effort you have put into this build, and for other Sots builders to follow. Your build is one of those that will stay in my mind for a long time and others to, so even when finished it will not end.

Regards
Trev.

Thanks Trev for those gracious comments, it's so appreciated...Cool Cool . When I started this build I just didn't envisage the diary would grow the way it has but for me that has also been a very enjoyable part of this journey. The growth of the diary is not just down to me, it is down to all the members who have been following and who have very kindly commented along the way, to each and every one I give my thanks....Cool Cool Still, there is quite a bit to go yet before she is finished, some 20 weeks of work still to go.. Thanks again..

Regards

Alan

Short update on progress on the long session of issue 116... Half way through it, finished fitting the lower shrouds on all masts....Long job and am pleased its done....Cool Cool . Have started fitting the sheer poles beginning with the lower ones. Tied pieces of thread on the outer shrouds at the correct height from the chain platform, this ensured the pole was set at the correct height and parallel to the platform. Pole has been fixed using small drops of CA, now started to tie to secure in place....Cool Cool Sheer pole fitting will continue tomorrow and then its the long job of fitting the ratlines.....Cool Cool .. Happy building all....

Regards

Alan

Way to go Alan!

Once the shrouds and rat lines start going up the whole thing gains an extra dimension above the decks! Although it can be very fiddly at times, I always found the rigging was almost therapeutic, at least there was no sawdust!!BigGrin
Have a great (and restful) Family Christmas M8, and looking forward to the next instalments!Cool

Tying ratlines just now, again enjoyable and finding now am getting through it a little faster as I get used to the techniques but don't think much will get done until after xmas.....BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin .. Still a long ways to go though....Cool Cool .. Have a great festive period and thanks again....Cool Cool

Short update on progress... with no work being done over the last few days due to the run up to xmas it was great today to get back to working on her.... Working on tying in all the ratlines at present. In my moment of madness I have decided to actually tie all the knots rather than use any other method.. a little slower perhaps but to me I think it looks a little more authentic.....Cool Cool . I also wanted to ensure I had a little sag between each of the shroud lines and think I achieved that quite well....Cool Cool Think it will be a few more evenings work before all the lower shrouds are done....Cool Cool .. Happy building all..

Regards

Alan
