Latex gloves - check Epoxy glue - check Superglue gel - check White vinegar and soapy water - check Mr Metal primer - check Let's get it on....oh, ok, lets at least soak the first lot of parts anyway! (Question, do ALL the parts have a protective film on - ie am i going to have to degrease everything, or just the brasswork - thinking along the lines of the underframes, will they need degreasing too, as surely the vinegar will damage the paintwork on it?) I only degreased the parts I was painting, not the underframe.
I used simple green as my degreaser.I also used 2000K automotive epoxy paints so I had no adhesion issues.

The degreasing station begins - as does the long road to train euphoria! (Excuse the mess in the kitchen! Was a last minute idea to do it in there) Completed: Earth, Moon, Sun Orbiter Build a Model Solar System

I enjoyed this build because of the different techniques involved working with metal instead of wood. You have a good approach and I'm sure it will all work very well. Loving the build, can't believe how bloody HEAVY it is though! Had a productive weekend, luckily the mrs was in a "do nothing" mood so I got loads done! Undercarriage section, complete so far (though I'm sure there will be more bits to be added to it later! ) Decided to do the tender for the next part, this is the start of the bracing - you wouldn't normally see this once built!
