Hi everyone, I've been following your great blogs but haven't had a chance to post my work. I was concentrating on building and improving my Lambo Countach model (see my post under the L.C. section) and with business and family commitments don't have the time to maintain more than one detailed blog. I am on stage 18 already so getting there! Will post some pics soon. As is my practice, I try to add some personal touches to the finished model. For the HD Fat Boy I made a set of paper paraphernalia in 1/4 scale: 1) Owner's manual (for the 1990 original model); 2) Fat Boy information sheet (for dealers and expos); 3) HD wall calendar; 4) Three magazine print ads; 5) January 1990 Cycle World Magazine with a big introductory article about the Fat Boy. The last one was particularly fun to make. I purchase the original magazine on eBay for a few dollars, and scanned and reduced to 1/4 scale front and back covers, first and last few pages and the whole article devoted to the Fat Boy. I printed doubled pages on a color laser printer using glossy paper, cut them out and glued together using paper glue stick, adding three small staples in the middle just like the original magazine. Despite its tiny size you can still read the article! I knew before reading or getting to the pictures what to expect after reading your other two bike threads, I wasn't disappointed, you've done it again. Outstanding job

Finally got around to posting some more details pics. I've just completed Pack 20, can't believe it's been almost two years! Stage 63. Completed the read wheel. Tire had been washed with a mild detergent, dried and covered with Armorall Tire Shine spray, and buffed. Putting the tire on the rim was a tough one... The key is to apply gentle pressure piece-by-piece, abt. 1/2" at a time until it pops into place. Attached drive wheel and brake disc; carefully placed rubber belt around the drive wheel and inserted and screwed in the whole think into the rear swingarm (took several tries to fit it right). Stage 65. Fitted the two side reflectors (gentle pressure! easy to break off the fitting pins, barely avoided it). The wires from the tail light and turning signals were bundled together and attached to the underside of the rear fender using small squares of duct tape; this ways they are less loose and don't interfere with other parts. Attached the fender using the four U type screws (required quite a bit of pressure). Fitted oil pump and pushrod support. I wish I had a third hand to align the rods while making sure they don't fall out . It did take some tries to align them properly but looks good. Stage 69. Installed timer and gear covers. A piece of Ultrasuede comes very handy in removing unsightly fingerprints from all the shiny chrome parts! Hi Al, thanks for the comments! I probably will add the extras. Even located a 1990 motorycle license plate from Washington State (where I live) and made a scale copy (on glossy cardstock).
