Hi guys, Thank you for all your replies most very must appreciated. @ Tony the work on the seat was fun but made me think again about the shape so lets see what a different shape will look like more as a real spitfire seat ? @ Walter thanks for your time to have a look at my build and your value comments. @ Phil thanks for looking in and with all the metal plating nearly finished it now looks like a spitfire. @ Hi Dave although I still have kept the De-Ago seat I will be having a go a new shape. Hi Alan, Thanks for the comments about the Spitfire seat, the DeAgo seat turned out fine but I am having a go at modifying a seat more to how it should look i.e. more rounded and it will have a metal frame with a armour plate set at the back of the seat. So far I have built the seat from thin ply and balsa the sides are ply coped from a master plate which I have made by hand, draw from a picture, again this was very time consuming but well worth the effort. Hi With the cockpit seat in mind I decided that it would be nice to fit a pilot, so I sent of for a 1:12 scale, I received it yesterday but on opening I found it to be to large, so I don't no if is my build or the manufactures, I will keep this on for my Hurricane build as it is just about the right size, or should I remove the parachute see what you think by the pictures. Hi Trev, These are my thoughts: The little fellow looks great, even got the opportunity to add lenses to his goggles by the look of it.  I would hold off on doing anything with him until you`ve finished your Spitfire. With your modified seat in place and the conopy, you would be able to make a better judgement of where to go. I think if the chute was to be removed he would be a good fit and it wouldn`t be noticed he didn`t have a chute, but best judged when you can close the canopy on the back of his head. I thought about the pilot when I saw Tomick's post but glad I did nothing. He sure is a big fella! I think that you could be right to save him for your Hurricane Alec Built: Bluenose, Arab Dhow, HMS Bounty, Hummer H1, D51, Spitfire,E type Jaguar.
In Progress: HMS Victory, , Yamaha YZR-M1
Adapt, improvise, overcome.

I would say he looks overscale and being resin possibly on the heavy side for an RC aircraft that may throw the CG, most RC aircraft figs tend to be hollow bodied/next to no weight.

Hi Trev Very neat work on all that metal skinning you have done. Very precise and tidy. There was never a great deal of room in these cockpits and i guess you would have to lever yourself in carefully and that is were it gets difficult trying to add a figure like you have because he is not going to flex around all of the cockpit bits and pieces. I think your cockpit would be better without a figure so you can show off that brilliant seat you built as well as any other bits you might devide to add. Happy Modelling

Looks a nice figure Trev, though I would agree that it would look a little cramped in the cockpit with him included? If it was me building the model I would go with adding lots more detail to the cockpit which could then be more easily seen and admired without the pilot in situ? Just my thoughts?
