Gandale wrote:Looks great Derek, very nice touches being done.... Regards Alan Thanks Alan, There is one minor issue with the dio. The material thickness for the cobbles means you have to prop up the drain grate slightly to keep it level with the road surface, but no great problem. The benefit though, is that it now has some depth under the grate to give it some added realism. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Hi All, Just a small update as what was going to be a workroom refurb has turned into a rebuild to accomodate large builds and new work areas. Anyway more on that later, but for now I`ve finished the pavements and about to seal the whole base before I paint and weather it. I`ve not laid the paving stones 100% regular and made very slight differences in their thicknesses to make it look like a well worn pavement. More coming soon. Derek Fantastic. Really been enjoying seeing this one cone together being somewhat of an Occre "fan" not always the easiest of models to put together but you are doing a sterling job. As much as occre have some "interrsting obsatcles" in their builds these diorama kits are a bit special. Nice to see your latrst update Happy Modelling

Thanks for the kind comments and to those that took the time to look in. Andy: Watch this space to see what the "Grubby Gremlins" do to the street. A clipped pic is attached below to show what I will be aiming for. The street weathering takes a full build stage of the 21 stages that complete the dio. So far only two stages have been completed so a long way to go yet. Al: Cobbles and Paving done. Lots of building to do. Then it`s on to the weathered roof tiles. I think that the most repetative bits are now done though. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) delboy271155 attached the following image(s): COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Hi All, Been looking at the weathering and effects possible for this dio and what`s on the market. I was thinking about what sort of street litter would be around, apart from wear and tear of roads and pavements. Leaf litter came to mind and whilst searching around ebay for such items, came across this.(Make your own version). Available in differing scales and leaf types, these cutters are said to work on paper and the like plus real dried leaves. Here`s the link to one type, check out the other ones on offer by the same seller, on show at the bottom of the page: Leaf cuttersRegards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

I have seen these on some of the modelling web sites and they look a very good idea. Thet do them in several leaf types i think. The only minor issue i can see is that if you are working in a small scale the larger of the leaf shapes would not be required and you could spend a time having to sort through the pressed out pieces. But working in a larger scales i guess you could useall of the pressed out pieces. Its an interesting one because what sort of litter would they have had years back? And did they have as much as we see these days. While probable not the right era for your build there are some interesting pictures here. https://www.google.co.uk...ri#imgrc=XnxQQv8wW0yrQM:Happy Modelling
