Stage 41

This stage starts by attaching the sand spreader tubes, its a good idea to place these out in order and try fit first so you are sure they are going in the correct place. The tubes are attached to the pipe main cocks fitted earlier, they are then secured underneath the boiler with tube receivers to hold them in place. Masking tape will help hold everything securely while the glue sets.

Stage 42

Start off by gluing together the discharge reservoir, discharge value, and discharge handwheel. Once the glue has tried the assembly is attached to the left firebox bottom and secured with glue. Next a bleed value is glued to the right firebox bottom. These bottoms are now secured to the bottom of the firebox with screws. The stage is finished off by gluing a drainage pipe into the bottom of the discharge value.

Stage 43

Start by laying out all the parts so you know what is going to be glued where. Then take the axes A and glue them into the 6 holes of the valve box. Glue Axes B into the valve box and axes C into the water injector. Once the glue has dried you can now start gluing on the little hand wheels.

Next lay out the parts ready to glue to the backhead as shown in the instructions, then start gluing them on after you have test fitted them to be sure where they are going.

Next we affix the air cylinder to the firebox door, followed by the firebox door handle into the air cylinder. Now the firebox door assembly is added to the backhead with the other parts. We then finish by attaching the backhead to the read of the body.

Stage 44

This stage we just add the front left running board, first by attaching the brackets the running board itself. We then attach 2 handrails. I found with my handrails I scraped the paint off as they went through the brackets, they will be touched up at the end.

Stage 45

More running board parts are fitted, like before this starts with the brackets followed by the running board and its base. Next we attach the sand spreader tube brackets. As is advised in the official build it is easier to shape these while off of the model.

Stage 46

Yet another running board attached, same as before brackets first then the board. An oil pump box is then attached to this running board. We finish this stage with more handrails.

This completes pack 6, it looks really cool already and there is still a ton of detail to come

I'm really enjoying this

Hi just looked through the build, got up to the 7th pack but not started the build yet. Never done any thing like this before. Looks so good now can not wait to start.
Dumped the first 3 packs on the table and will be starting this week, working
Hope you finish the build and post the rest of the diary, and some great advice, now need to get on with it.
Yours is looking great hope mine turns out half as good.

It is a great build, I will get round to finishing it soon Im just getting beasted with work at the moment

Take your time with it and try not to use too much glue on the parts you needs to glue otherwise it will squelch out the sides. Especially take your time and be gentle with the screws, you really dont want to slip off, I know I've done it a few times now

Looks great Dave not started mine yet so good to get a heads up of how she goes together by looking at yours.
