Hi All, I joined the forum a while back with the intention of starting my build straight away....but I decided to give my model a little twist. Some may like it, some may not, but I think model Harley's should be as personal as their life size counterparts 👍🏻 So here are some pics of the start of my journey and I'll keep posting pics as I go. Any comments and advice are welcome and I hope you enjoy following my thread.

The tank, fenders and oil tank are all painted in House of Color Wild Cherry and the frame is just gloss black.

Very nice work indeed, all looking really good.... .. I also think you would help members out if you were to resize your pics to 600 x 450 pixels and ensure the file size is no larger than 148kb. This way your pics will show on your diary and mean members do not have to download them to view.... .. Look forward to seeing more of your build.... Regards Alan

Very neat and tidy paint work. You look like you will end up with a very well made and different model. Always nice to see a different take on a build. Happy Modelling

So the build has started in ernest today. I've had a few slight issues as I've had to tap out some of the threads where the tank and front fender have had a few coats of paint and lacquer as the screws were pretty tight...but just like a real bike build it's been a case of test fits etc. so that assembly is easier. So far the fit is ok. The throttle grip is quite loose and wobbly, which isn't a massive issue but not as tight as I'd like. I am a bit miffed that the glass for the speedo is cracked, but I'm not going to hold up the build at this point but may order another piece in the future. VTwinTed attached the following image(s):

Continuing on with the build tonight...having little bits assembled and scattered about its looking like a mini scrap yard 😂 Ive have made a schoolboy error though.....I've just realised I've missed out painting part of the frame (as shown in the last pic) so will have to paint that tomorrow and can hopefully continue on with the build once it's dry. The build is all of a sudden starting to take shape! It’s been a bit confusing going backwards and forwards to packs I’ve opened and only needed certain parts, but if you have decent organisational skills it’s not a major issue.
The extra paint and lacquer has reared it’s head again which made aligning the rear swing arm a bit fiddly because it made it quite tight, same with threading the rear axle...but it’s well worth it as it’s starting to look better than I had imagined. One down side is the stripes that continue over the tank from the front and rear fenders is now covered by a leather scratch guard and can’t be seen... but hey ho.
I hope you enjoy the new pics of the build 👍🏻

Not sure what’s changed but I can’t upload my pics? Keeps telling me jpeg file format is not allowed but I’m not doing anything different from the other pics I posted?!? Posting from iPad.
