Hi All, After yet another long break on this as I worked away on some more major DIY projects I have finally got back onto the next stage. I have now fitted the left and right running boards and the front step. Pipework and cylinders now fitted to the underside of the running boards on the left hand side. Two steps away from starting the cab which I am really looking forward to. Anyway here are a couple of pics I am on going with this at the moment so will hopefully have more to show soon. Thanks for looking Cheers Peter

A very quick update following on from the ones months ago and my first crack at uploading photos without the use of the file sharing website I was using. I will update properly once I have 5 minutes on the laptop this weekend but currently working on the pony truck and leading wheels with the cab now fitted. I have decided to complete the engine before moving onto the tender. Cheers Peter

Hi All, Very long time from posting on here but after i lost all of my old photographs i gave up posting until i started some new threads. Just as a final post for the D51 i have now finished. Please see photographs below and i look forward to cracking on with HMS Hood again that now this is done, complete with hardback book mapping the build process. I didn't use the pre moulded coal in the tender but used loose coal and rolled it in matt varnish. It has gone hard and shouldn't move. I have loads of other pictures but will hold off. Ver much looking forward to getting started on another project. I have left the films on the plastics of the display case until i give this to my dad for his birthday. Cheers Peter

Very nice build you've got there VR86 . Great idea with the coal. I still kick myself for not subscribing to this one when i had the chance. It really makes into an impressive build, and you've made an impressive build of it! Regards Gray
