Glue the front grille to the main body with a headlight either side and the air intake below. Now fit the cockpit rear panel into its post holes in the main body and then the cockpit itself in front of it into the four remaining posts.

Fix the right and left front handrails between the cockpit and the main body checking that both are set vertically and are level to one another. Next fit the bulkhead into its slot and the rear handrails between the bulkhead and the main body checking they are also vertical and level with each other.

Separate the wheels from the sprue making sure that you leave the wheels pins intact.

Then without glue fit four wheels into the recesses on one of the front track inner parts and then glue a front track outer to the inner part’s posts making sure the glue doesn’t spill onto the wheels. Pull one of the tracks over the track/wheel set and then repeat for the other track parts.

Parts supplied:
Water tank, Handrails L+R, Turret base, Tail lamps x2 - Bonnet detail (on a fret), Pump unit, Pump base, Battery covers x2 (on a fret), Mirrors x2 (on a fret), Name plate, Hoses x2, Side blocks x2, Details A+B, Nozzle, Ariels x2.

Glue the water tank into the holes in the main body and the two hoses between the water tank and the main body pressing them down gently from above to fit them. Now fit the battery covers to each side of the main body making sure they are orientated correctly.

The handrails are marked L and R to show you which is which and these are attached by fitting the curved tips into the holes in the back end of the main body, then moving forward fit the two pins into the top of the main body and the end pins into the water tank. Next fit the two tail lamps to the back end of the main body

Join the pump unit to its base and then the side blocks to the pump unit making sure their orientation is correct. Next fix the details A+B to the top of the pump unit and without glue fit the pump assembly to the turret via the pins/holes. To complete the pump unit glue the nozzle into place.

Matching the slope of the bonnet glue the bonnet detail into its slot and the name plate onto the roof of the cockpit. Then fit the side mirrors into their slots with the mirrored surfaces facing backwards and checking they are level with each other.

Without glue place the pump/turret assembly onto its post checking that the pump/nozzle and the turret on which it sits can rotate and turn freely.

Finally glue the two aerials into place on the cockpit roof.

Stage complete, carefully store any remaining parts in a stage labelled bag.

Thunderbird 2

Parts supplied:
Left outer panel

Glue the left outer panel to the inner wall as you did for the right pressing the parts together to seal them.

Dry fit the wall to your Pod 4 assembly again seating the bottom lip in the groove of the floors edge. Carefully bring the panel inwards so it locates on the pins of the frames.

Elevator Car 4

Parts supplied:
Rear wheels x8, Rear hubcaps x4, Rear axles x2, Upper rear chassis, Lower rear chassis, Rear buffer.

Slide two wheels over the tip of one of the axles, silver side first so that the side with the central recess faces out and retain them by pushing a hubcap onto the ribbed end of the axle. Now slide the wheels back up the axle until they rest against the hubcap. Fit two more wheels and a hubcap to the other end of the axle making sure both pairs of wheels fit together snugly and are pushed up against the hubcaps. Repeat these steps to fit another set of wheels and hubcaps to the second axle.

Glue the rear buffer to the rear upper chassis and then fit the wheel/axle sets to the lower chassis, without glue. Finally glue the upper chassis to the lower chassis via its locating pins encasing the two axles.

Stage complete, carefully store any remaining parts in a stage labelled bag.
