Hi Ian, if the second figure turns out as good as the first, you will have one stunning centre-piece

The white frill round the neck and waist have been added. Three coats of the French blue have been used on the arms and the white frills have been added. The brass chain straps of the breast plate have been added, and the rivet`s of the breast plate where painted with copper paint. The face was painted using tones of flesh colour paints. Very nice work Ian especially with the metallics. I think figure modelling is one of the hardest genres in model making and one that most modellers deliberately avoid, so well done you for having a go.
I bet you're enjoying it though, even if it is difficult?

Thanks for the comments guys, they are very much appreciated. Kevin the hardest part of doing figures I find is getting the faces looking right after a few figures you start to get the hang of it. Can only agree with you Ian, the more you do the better your technique becomes... I'm finding the same with the small decorations on the Vasa, the more I do the more I learn..... Regards Alan

Exactly, practice makes perfect as they say and it can only get better once you've evolved a system that works - well done again and keep up the good work.

Thanks for the comments Alan and Kev. The head of the figure has been glued on then darkstar bright steel was painted onto the helmet. Three shades of black where added to the turban and the horse hair on the back of the helmet. The sword was glued to the sword arm. The reigns on the other arm have been painted in in black. I then used black shaddower to age the brass parts of the helmet, Breast plate, and round the hands. the figure was then glued to the base. The only thing left to finish is the rifle which needs to be painted some more. Thanks for looking in. ian smith attached the following image(s): Current builds.Hachettes build the bismark,HMS Victory, HMS Hood. Finished Builds Corel HMS Victory cross section.
