1:200 SCALE STUD LINK ANCHOR CHAIN

Assembling a few “Bits and Pieces” for my Hachette Bismarck one of the things that struck me was how inaccurate the supplied anchor chain is.

I recently saw mention of scale anchor chain in a perfect 1:200 scale that has the correct stud linking and thought this would be ideal to replace what you are provided in the kit.

Each of these replacement chains are 420mm long.

However, there is a slight downside to using them on the working Bismarck kit and that is the fact these chains are made of resin and to be honest I am not at all sure they would have the strength to support the metal anchors as well as raising and lowering the same.

These replacement chains will however be ideal for any 1:200 static ship models so all is not wasted.

Hi Tony,

Thats good looking chain! There is a lot of 3D printed stud chain about these days but as you rightly say only good for static models.

However Caldercraft do some metal stud chain that may suit your needs. See link below

Thanks for the link Jase.

They have a 10 links per inch version which might just look ok.
