Hello all I'd like to share these pictures of my newly completed HKModels 1/32 Lancaster. Although some parts are not historically correct (due to a change of mind at a late-in-the-construction stage), I think it looks rather striking and this is probably due to its large scale. I was presented with a lot of difficulties with this model in as much as several parts were not a very good fit and overall the whole model took a lot longer due to the extra 'make good' work. I know models aren't perfect but when you pay a lot of money you expect better so in several respects I was disappointed with the quality of the kit. I won't go any further into this suffice it to say it turned out ok! I added lighting in order to view the inside the aircraft through the windows and various openings. Wasn't keen on the clear fuselage option. Regards Alan ALW attached the following image(s):

Alan Looks a very nicely finished model. How did you find it working on such a large model or is it something you are used to doing? Nit sure i would be able to deal with anything quite as large as this kit when it came to the overall painting. Tony Happy Modelling

Hi Tony
I prefer to make larger models (for my sins)!
I cope with the scale by using Tamiya extra thin cement and I always, where possible, use Humbrol acrylic spray paints. These two products go along way to making the job easy and effect a good finish.
And of course the biggest issue is having the space to accommodate such large kits.
I'm very fortunate I do have space to make them and a large loft to display them!
I think it's like everything in life once you've gained experience it becomes a lot easier!
Merry Christmas.
Regards. Alan
