I have finally got around to digging my RB7 out of storage. (House Move)
Have decided not to race the model but wanted to complete the display body. Adding the stickers was a blast from the past.I have not added so many transfers since my Airfix model plane days.
Have nearly finished, will be making a display case once I am allowed out (Self isolating) Here was my problem and eventual cure.
When trying the replace the body onto the model, at each attempt it would foul on some part of the chassis at about 5mm from it final location. Cursing Cursing Cursing Cursing Cursing . After some attempts I realised the problem was the front tip of the chassis was jamming up against the yellow nose of the display body. Various attempts at different angles did not work. As always in this situation a gap of several days and a return to the model was required.
In the end I threaded some thin thread through the screw hole at the front of the display body, this I then passed back along the inside of the body and wound it around the front tip of the chasis
I then reattached the body and when it reached the part of the chassis which was causing the problem I was able to use the thread to move the tip down and under the nose. As the thread was only wound around the chasis and not tied it was easy to pull on one end of the loop and remove it from the model Jobs a goodun
