Hi All,
It`s time for some more of the BIG 1:6 Mustang.
The new pack 8 arrived this morning, so here`s the first update with Issue 29. In this issue we will extend the rear section of the floor (from issue 28) forward, in readiness to add more parts in the upcoming issues.
Parts supplied.....Pic 1. You will also need the rear floor section from issue 28.
Bring the part 29A (supplied in this issue) and the the rear floor section (from issue 28) to the table. Position the new part 29A underneath the rear floor from issue 28 and engage the the posts and holes as indicated in Pic 2.
You now need to secure the two parts together. This is achieved by using 4 x DS02 screws (two on each side) as shown in Pics 3 and 4. Note: it is suggested that you put all four screws in place, before you fully tighten them. This will ensure that the parts line up as they should.
That`s all there is to this update, Pic 5. I`ll see you soon for Issue 30.

Hi All,
I`m back with the next update for the 1:6 Mustang, Issue 30.
In this update we add the central chassis.
Parts supplied.....Pic 1. You will also need the rear/intermediate chassis from Issue 29.
The first task is to add the handbrake cable retainers 30C (L) and 30D (R) to the central chassis 30A. The identification of 30D can be seen in Pic 2. Also take note of the keyhole slot in the chassis, shown in Pic 3. Now place part 30D (marked R) into its position in the chassis, Pic 4 and fix it in place using a PS01 screw. Pic 5. Then repeat the process with part 30C (marked L) and another PS01 screw. Pic 6.
Next we place the drive shaft protection plate 30B into the chassis, Pic 7 and fix that in place using 2 x PS01 screws. Pic 8.
Carefully, position the central chassis into the chassis produced in Issue 29. Pic 9. Then fix it in place with 3 x DS02 screws, Pic 10 and 4 x DS02 screws, Pic 11. Finally with 2 x DS12 screws as in Pic 12.
That`s all for this update, Pic 13. See you soon for Issue 31 where work starts on the rear axle.

Hi All,
Time for the update of issue 31. In this issue we start the construction of the rear axle.
Parts supplied.....Pic 1.
Start with the Differential cover 31-B and 2 x PS11 screws. Turn the two screws into the posts on the inside of the Differential cover, but DO NOT overtighten them. Pic 2.
The two screws are of the flanged variety and they should now fit into the slots in the lower rear axle snuggly. Pic 3. Note: You should not have to push the screws into the slots. If to tight a fit, loosen the screws a little. If the cover rattles like a loose tooth then tighten the screws a touch. A better adjustment will be made in the next update.
That`s all for this update. Pics 4 and 5.
Issue 32 coming soon.

Hi All,
More from the 1:6 Mustang, with issue 32. Here we will finish the rear axle casing and fit it to the chassis.
Parts supplied.....Pic 1. You will also need the lower rear axle from Issue 31 and the rear chassis assembly.
Start with the lower rear axle from Issue 31 and place the upper part 32A on top, this should fully engage with the lower half and trap the internal screws of the differential case, Pic 2. Note: The differential case should now be firmly held in place. Should it be loose, remove the upper axle and tighten the two screws in the differential case and try again.
When you are happy with the rear axle fit, secure the two halves together using 4 x DS02 screws. Two shown in Pic 3 and one each in Pics 4 and 5.
Next place the two springs 32C, over the posts on the top of the axle, Pic 6. Keep the springs in place and position the axle onto the rear chassis assembly, Pic 7. Then whilst holding the rear axle in place turn the chassis over. The top of the posts on the axle, should now be visible through the chassis, Pic 8. Now place a washer 32B over each hole, Pic 9 and secure the axle to the chassis using 2 x PS10 screws through the washers. Pic 10.
That`s all for this update, Pics 11 and 12 show the assembly at this stage.
More on the rear suspension in the next update, Issue 33.

Hi All,
This is the last update for this pack, with Issue 33 and that puts us at 25% built. In this update we will fit the Left rear leaf spring of the suspension.
Please note: The orientation of the parts in this issue are critical, as parts can easily be fixed the wrong way round.
Parts supplied.....Pic 1, you will also need the rear chassis section from issue 32.
Take the leaf spring 33-A and the rear support 33-B (this is the wider support that has a step in it lower surface). The rear end of the leaf spring is the one furthest from the centre hole, also confirmed by the position of the rivets and clamp. I have indicated the above in Pic 2. Now place the end of the leaf spring inside the rear support and then press a pin 33-E through both parts (smooth end first) as shown in Pic 3 and 4.
Next position the front support 33-C to the other end of the leaf spring Pic 5 and fix it in place using the second pin 33-E as indicated in Pic 6. This pic was taken before the pin was pushed fully home, so remember to fully engage the pin to lock it in place.
Now position the leaf spring on the underside of the rear chassis locating the supports as shown in Pic 7. Then keep the supports in place and turn the rear chassis over. You can now fix the supports in place by using 2 x PS05 screws as in Pic 8.
With the assembly upside down again, add the shock absorber support plate 33-D and fix it using 2 x DS01 screws, Pic 9.
That ends this update and pack, Pic 10. Out of interest I put the rear chassis assembly on my kitchen scales. Weight 1.275 Kg, Pic 11. I`m gonna need bigger scales as this set max out at 5Kg.
See you soon when the next pack arrives.
