Issue 66
Contents The Roof Frame, Firewood
Picture 1 shows the contents of this issue.
Assembling and Painting the Firewood Take the three parts of the firewood, picture 2. These have been marked from “A to C”. The bottom piece is “A” followed by the centre piece “B” and the top piece “C”. I painted these with a brown enamel wash and allowed to dry, before highlighting then with a cream/brown paint using the dry brush method, picture 3.
Place these into the log store in order as highlighted above, picture 4.
Assembling the Roof Frame Assemble the roof frame parts with the corresponding letters, using wood glue as shown in picture 5.
We will be painting these parts next time.
That completes this issue.

Issue 67
Contents The Roof Frame
Picture 1 shows the contents of this issue.
Assembling the Roof Frame Take the roof assemblies from the previous issue along with the parts that came in this issue and paint them with dark brown paint, pictures 2 and 3.
Lay the roof frames from issue 66 as shown in picture 4. You will assemble all the short rafters in order as shown in the illustration, picture 4. Just make sure you have all the round frames lined up. Place the first two short rafters as shown in picture 5, and then attach the middle ring as shown in picture 6, making sure it lines up as in picture 4. Now add the top ring, picture 7. Place the remaining short rafters in their positions using picture 4 as a guide to where they are attached. Picture 8 shows them all in place.
Now attach the medium rafters as shown in picture 9. Picture 10 shows them all in place.
Finally add the long rafters as shown in picture 11.
Picture 12 shows the complete assembly for this issue.

Contents The Roof Frames and Bed Frame
Picture 1 shows the contents of this issue.
Assembling the Bed Frame Using a small dot of quick drying glue attach the headboard to the bed frame. Note that the headboard slots down onto the bedframe for sturdiness, picture 2. Do the same to the footboard as shown in picture 3.
Assembling the Roof Frame Take the roof parts from this issue and paint them with dark brown paint, picture 4.
Take the two short bottom rafters and place them as shown in picture 5. Now place the two medium rafters and again place them as shown in picture 6. Next, attach the short rafter, picture 7, followed by the long rafter and top ring as shown in picture 8.
Assembling the Second Floor As before with the previous two floors, lay the ceiling down on a flat surface and using wood glue, attach the second-floor assembly pushing the walls between the gaps in the ceiling beams. I used clamps to hold this in place whilst the glue dried, picture 9.
Using quick drying glue attach the staircase in place making sure there is an even gap between the ceiling and the top of the staircase, whilst the bottom of the stairs is flush with the floor. Glue the banister rail into the four holes in the floor, picture 10.
You will also notice that I have place little wooden ball caps onto the banister rail. These were plastic pins painted white and then painted with different browns to give it the appearance of wood to match the rest of the stairs, picture 11.
That complete the assembly for this issue.

Issue 69 Part 1
Contents The Attic Dormer Window, Bed Mattress and Base.
Picture 1 shows the contents of this issue.
Assembling the Bed Mattress Place the mattress and fold the fabric around it. I used double sided tape for this. Then fold the ends as shown, again I used double sided tape to hold the ends down, pictures 2 and 3.
Using quick drying glue place the base into the bed assembly, picture 4. Using double sided tape place the mattress in the bed as shown in picture 5.
Take the bedspread you made in issue 65 and laying it down with the un-patterned side facing up, place two strips of double-sided tape along the two side parts and place on the bed, sticking the two side parts to the side bed frame, picture 6.
Picture 7 shows the complete bed assembly.

Issue 69 Part 2
Contents The Attic Dormer Window, Bed Mattress and Base.
Assembling the Attic Dormer Window Take the left and right sides of the attic dormer, along with the front, picture 1. Using wood glue, attach the two side to the front as shown in picture 2. Next, attach the roof support, picture 3 along with the sill, picture 4. Allow the assembly to dry before moving onto the next step.
As with the roof frame, paint the inside of the dormer with a dark brown paint to match the roof assembly, picture 5.
Apply wood glue to the right side of the dormer and attach the right roof, picture 6. Do the same to the left side, picture 7.
Insert the top pin of the window into the hole at the top of the frame, picture 8. Then push the bottom pin into the hole at the bottom of the frame. I placed a small piece of wood from a toothpick and glued it in place at the top of the widow frame to hold the window in place to stop the bottom from coming out, picture 9.
Attach two narrow strips of double-sided tape to the inside of the window and attach the transparent plastic window on the frame. Note: the transparent plastic window has film on both sides, these will need to be peeled off before attaching it to the window frame.
Glue the frame assembly onto the dormer front using wood glue, picture 10.
Tip: The window frame is plastic and has a sheen to it that looks plasticky. I gave my frame a coat of spray white paint to make it look more wooden as with the rest of the dormer.
Picture 11 shows the complete dormer assembly attached to the roof frame.

Issue 70
Contents The Attic Floor, Attic Room Chair.
Picture 1 shows the contents of this issue.
Painting the Attic Room Floor This is the same process as before. Take the flooring that came with this pack and the tube of burnt umber paint. Mix a small amount of paint with water. I used approximately 1 part paint to 8 parts water and mix well. Using the brush supplied or any soft flat brush, paint the flooring, brushing the floor in the same direction as the floorboards. Do not go over where you have painted and use the amount of paint on the brush sparingly. Once done, I patted the area I had painted with a paper towel and left to dry for around 10 minutes.
Note: I gave it a second light coat and after allowing that to dry for 10 minutes, I painted individual floorboards again giving it a natural planking effect as shown. Careful, as less is more in this case.
I have also varnished my flooring as I did before with the other floors, picture 2.
Attic Room Chair I will not be assembling the chair in this issue as further parts for the chair are in the next issue. As this will need painting, it is best to paint it once all the parts have been assembled.
That complete the assembly for this issue.
