Assembling the Leaf Spring

Place the left rear right spring (33A) onto the post on the rear axle, picture 2. Note that the longer end of the leaf spring runs towards the back in line with the left one you assembled in the previous issue. Place the shock absorber mount over the leaf spring and secure with an EM screw, picture 3.

Push the ends of the ā€œUā€ bolts (33C) through the holes of the mount and secure them with the small nuts (33D) using the supplied tool in the last issue, (32F) picture 4.

Using an EM screw, secure the shock absorber (33E) to the notch on the side of the mount as shown in picture 5.

Pictures 6 shows the complete assembly for this issue.

Issue 34

Picture 1 shows the parts for this issue.

Assembling the Front Hangers

Take the left spring hanger (34A), picture 2, and secure it to the eye at the front of the rear left leaf spring with a AJM screw, picture 3. Now do the same for the right spring hanger, (34B) picture 4.

Take the first rear hanger (34C) and attach it to the rear left spring using one of the shackle pins, picture 5. Secure it with one of the shackle outers (34G) and secure with two nuts, picture 6. Do the same with the rear right leaf spring as shown in picture 7.

Place the two shock absorber springs (34F) and slot them over the ends of the two shock absorber rods, picture 8.

Retrieve the body assembly and push the two shock absorber rods into the shock absorber lower mounts and secure the rear suspension assembly to the body frame using 4 x EM screws, picture 9.

Turn the assembly over and secure the rear of the suspension using 2 x EM screws as shown in picture 10.

Pictures 11 shows the complete assembly for this issue.

Issue 35

Assembling the Gear Box

Insert the sector gear (35B) into the steering gear housing bottom (35D), picture 2. Now place the worm gear (35C) in the housing as shown in picture 3. Cover with the steering housing top and secure with 2 x AM screws, picture 4. Secure the universal joint (35F) to the end of the worm gear with 2 x ZM screws, picture 5.

Use two more ZM screws to fix the steering shaft (35E) to the universal joint, picture 6.

Take the assembly and secure it to the front chassis using 2 x AM screws, picture 7.

Turn the assembly over and insert the end of the sector gear into the idler arm and secure with an AM screw, picture 8.

Pictures 9 shows the complete assembly for this issue.

Issue 36

Picture 1 shows the parts for this issue.

Assembling the Drive Shaft

Begin by fitting the universal joint (36C) to the centre support bearing (36D), securing it with 2 x AP screws, picture 2. Now fix it to the rear drive shaft (36F) with two more AP screws, picture 3.

Slot the drive shaft bearing (36E) to the centre support bearing, picture 4. Now place the lip at the end of the centre support into the bracket on the inside of the front drive shaft (36A), picture 5, and cover this with the other half of the drive shaft (36B) and secure with 2 x AP screws, picture 6. Now attach a universal joint (36C) to the end of the front drive shaft and secure with 2 x AP screws, picture 7.

Installing the Drive Shaft
Fix the universal joint at the end of the front drive shaft to the slip yoke at the end of the gearbox using 2 x AP screws, picture 8. Finally, secure the universal joint at the end of the drive shaft to the spider joint, again using 2 x AP screws, picture 9.

Issue 38

Assembling the Seat Pan

Place the seat pan (38A) on the rear of the floor pan and secure it with 10 x CM screws, picture 1.

Now turn the assembly over and secure the drive shaft bearing to the seat pan using 2 x AP screws, picture 2.
