Hi All, BigGrin

This ones hot off the press as it only arrived an hour ago. LOL

Here we go with pack 10 of ET, which covers issues 45 - 50.

In issue 45 we build the central neck frame, but first a warning. Watch out for the shafts and rollers as they tend to try and roll away and we all know about carpet gremlins. Blink

Parts supplied.....Pic 1.

Start with the right neck frame 45-02 and insert the six shafts 45-04 as shown in Pic 2. Then carefully place a roller 45-03 on each shaft, Pic 3.

The next stage can be a little fiddly, so carefully place the left neck frame 45-01 into position. Then having made sure that all the shafts are correctly engaged in both sides of the neck frame, fix the frame halves together using 6 x P-TP screws as indicated in Pic 4.

That`s all for this update, so I`ll see you soon for issue 46.ThumpUp

Hi All, BigGrin

Now we have the update for Issue 46 of ET. In this issue we prepare an assembly for fixing in place in the next update, so not a lot to do.

Parts supplied.....Pic 1.

For the purpose of orientation, position parts 46-01 and 46-02 as shown in Pic 2. Also note how the parts assembly is indicated.

Position the parts as shown in Pic 3 and then fix the parts together using 2 x P-TP screws, as shown in Pic 4.

That`s all for this update, so see you soon for Issue 47.

Hi All, BigGrin

Here we are with the issue 47 update. In this issue we add more to the neck mechanism and start on the shoulder construction of ET.

Parts supplied.....Pic 1, you will also need the assembly from issue 46 and the main body of ET.

We start with the assembly from issue 46 and make sure which is the front face, as it will fit back to front. Pic 2.

Bring the main body to the table and position the issue 46 assembly at the top, Pic 3. Note: there are four small lugs on the issue 46 assembly (two each side) and these fit into four small cutouts in the top of the body.

Now take either of the shoulder plates 47-01 (they are identical), position it to the right hand side and fix it in position using 2 x P-TPD screws, Pic 4. Then repeat this operation and fit the left hand side shoulder plate 47-01, using another 2 x P-TPD screws, Pic 5.

That`s all for this issue. Pics 6 and 7 show how the shoulder area looks now, While Pic 8 shows the whole of the main body.

Keep the unused screws from this stage safe for use in Issue 48.

Hi All, BigGrin

So its time for the next ET update with issue 48, where we will extend the neck assembly.

Please note: There were two screws left unused from issue 47, that were labelled P-TP. In issue 48 they have become P-TPC screws. Confused Blink I will refer to these screws as the unused ones from issue 47.LOL Also in the instructions for issue 48 it says it may need 14 screws to be loosened to fit the neck frame from issue 45. My easier method follows below. ThumpUp

Parts supplied.....Pic 1, you will also need the neck frame from issue 45, Et`s main body and the two unused screws from issue 47.

The object of this update is to fit the neck frame, constructed in issue 45, Pic 2.

My method was to remove the left side shoulder plate (just two screws), then lower the neck frame over the neck connection bar. As the neck frame passes through the hole in the top plate, it should seat on the top plate with the two posts near its end sitting between the supports inside the body. Should the posts not locate correctly, all you need to do is carefully ease the side panels apart a couple of millimetres and it will fit. All shown in Pic 3, with the neck frame posts correctly seated in position in Pic 4. You can now refit the left shoulder plate and two screws, making sure the neck frame does not move.

Now use the two screws that were not used in issue 47 and fix the neck frame posts in place, Pics 5 and 6.

Finally take the upper neck plate part 48-01 and position it on top of the lower plate 48-02, make sure that the orientation marks are positioned as shown in Pic 7. Then fix the parts together using 2 x T-TP screws as in Pic 8.

That`s all for this update, keep the 4 x P-TPB screws for a later stage.

Hi All, BigGrin

This is going to be a two for one update of ET with issue 49 followed very closely by issue 50.

I`ll explain, in issues 49 and 50 there is very little to do and nothing is fixed together. In fact you builders out there may even wish to leave these until the next pack arrives, but I`ll leave that up to you. As this is an official build I have to crack on regardless. LOL

Parts supplied.....Pic 1.

Start (and finish) by placing one of the rings 49-02 onto each end of the haxagonal shaft of part 49-01, Pic 2.

Yep, that`s it. Told you it was short.Blink Issue 50 coming up.

Hi Again, Blink

Issue 50 update is here, but its only slightly longer than 49.Confused Blink

Parts supplied.....Pic 1, you will also need the assembly from issue 49.

Begin with the servo mount 50-01 and place one of the nylon bearings 50-02 in place as shown in Pic 2. Now position the assembly from issue 49 into the nylon bearing. The short end of the shaft goes into the bearing, making sure the ring 49-02 stays in place. Pic 3. Finally position the second bearing 50-02 over the ring of the longer shaft, Pic 4.

That`s all for this Pack, so I`ll see you again as soon as the next one arrives.
