Hi All,
Next pack for the Mustang arrived yesterday (issues 54 - 58), so here is the update for Issue 54. In this update we construct and fit the upper front suspension arms.
Parts supplied.....Pic 1, you will also need the main chassis assembly.
We will start with the left hand side arm and bracket 54A/54C (marked "L") and one of the pins 54E. Lay them out as shown in Pic 2, this will ensure the correct orientation of the parts. Now position the arm and bracket together, then insert the pin (smooth end first) through the parts, Pic 3. You will now need a pair of pliers to push the knurled end of the pin fully into place, Pic 4.
Repeat the process above to construct the right side arm and bracket (marked "R") using the second pin as shown in Pics 5 and 6. You have now completed both front upper suspension arms, Pic 7 and will now fit them to the main chassis.
Position the right assembly in place and fix it using 2 x DS02 screws and a DS12 screw as in Pic 8. Then repeat for the left side assembly using the same type screws as before, shown in Pic 9.
That`s all for this update, Pic 10 shows the front end of the chassis as it is now.

Hi All,
This is the issue 55 update, where we will build some more of the exhaust system.
Parts supplied.....Pic 1.
It should be noticed that the four parts of the exhaust supplied, have either an"R" or "L" on the inside to depict which side is which. Pic 2.
Use parts 55A and 55B (marked "R") to make the right resonator, fixing the parts together using 3 x PS02 screws, Pic 3.
Then use the parts 55C , 55D and 3 x PS02 screws, to make the left resonator in the same manner, Pic 4.
That`s all for this update, Pic 5. There`s more on the exhaust coming in issue 56.

Hi All,
Here we go with the next Mustang update, Issue 56. In this issue we will construct more of the exhaust and fix it to the main chassis. By the end we will have the exhaust complete from the tail pipes, right through to the point where it will join the exhaust manifolds when the engine is fitted.
Parts supplied.....Pic 1, you will also need the two exhaust resonators from issue 55 and the main chassis.
Start with the exhaust part supplied 56-A and position the left resonator from issue 55 as shown in Pic 2. Hold the parts together , turn them over and fix them together using a PS02 screw, Pic 3. Repeat this for the right resonator, using another PS02 screw, Pics 4 and 5. The underside of the complete assembly is shown in Pic 6.
Place the chassis upside down on the table. Take the assembled exhaust and fit the two pins on the resonator ends into the tail pipes, then lower the rest of the exhaust into place, making sure the four mounting posts rest in the holes in the chassis. Pic 7 shows the unfixed exhaust in place. To fix the exhaust I found it easier to fix the front end first. Do this using 2 x PS05 screws as in Pic 8, then fix the posts that attach the resonators using a further 2 x PS05 screws as in Pic 9.
That`s all for this update, see you soon for issue 57.

Hi All,
This update for issue 57 of the Mustang will come in two parts, to save scrolling too many pictures. In these updates we start building the front floor of the passenger compartment.
All the parts supplied.....Pic 1.
Note: The self adhesive carpet pieces do need extreme care when fitting. The material is very stretchy and can be distorted out of shape and the adhesive has a very quick grab, so it has to be placed in the correct position first time. They are also a dust magnet due to the static generated.
Part A:
Start with the large floor panel 57-A and the left carpet 57i. I started by lining up the rear edge and gradually removed the backing paper as I progressed forward to the bulkhead, Pic 2, with the finished fit shown in Pic 3. Now do the same with the right carpet piece 57-J, Pic 4.
Next piece to fit is the centre carpet 57-H. This piece has a square hole cut in it and that hole has to be accurately fixed around the gear stick mounting position and the rear end has two cutouts that have to be aligned, Pic 5.
Now fit the left and right front panels 57-K and 57-L, noting that the left one has three holes in it and these must align with the three holes in the floor panel, Pics 6 and 7. Finally fit the centre front carpet 57-M, Pic 8.
That`s it for Part A, with Part B following very shortly.

Hi All,
Back again with the second half of this update of issue 57.
Parts used are the ones left over from Part A and the floor panel with the carpets attached.
Part B:
Press fit the gear knob 57-D onto the end of the gear stick 57-C, noting that it will only fit in one orientation, Pic 1. Then press the other end of the gear lever into the boot 57-B, noting that this will only fit one way, Pic 2. Now fit the gear lever base 57-E onto the boot. Pic 3. NOTE: There is a protrusion on the boot that fits into a notch in the base, so this will also only fit one way.
Recover the front floor panel from part A and position the gear stick assembly into the square cutout in the centre carpet, Pic 4, then holding the gear stick in place fix it in position using a PS05 screw from under the floor panel, Pic 5.
Its now time to fit the power switch into place in the floor panel. As you are working with the floor panel upside down, take extra care not to damage the gear stick.
Press fit the switch into the hole in the floor panel, Pic 6. NOTE: Mine was quite a tight fit, so make sure the switch is square to the hole when you press it in place.
Now retain the switch in the floor using the small plate 57-F and a PS14 screw, Pic 7.
That completes issue 57 with the floor panel the same as the one in Pic 8.

Hi All,
Well we are at the end of another pack, with the update for issue 58. In this update we will carpet the front floor side panels, fit and wire up the pedals, then fit the front side floor panels.
Parts supplied.....Pic 1, you will also need the front floor panel from the previous update.
Fit the self adhesive carpet piece 58-H onto the side panel 58-B for the right side, Pic 2. Then repeat using carpet 58-G and side panel 58-A for the left side, Pic 3. Keep the panels handy as they will be fitted later in this update.
Position the pedal assembly 58-C onto the front floor panel from issue 57 as shown in Pic 4, then fix it in place using 2 x PS25 screws, Pic 5. NOTE: The accelerator and brake pedals have posts on their rear side and these must fit into the holes in the floor panel.
Now take the switch holder 58-D and position the button switches on the cables 58 -E (02) and 58-F (03) into place as indicated in Pic 6. The switch holder is now positioned on the underside of the floor panel. Press fit the slot in the switch holder over the tab of the floor panel, then fix the switch holder in place using a PS25 screw, Pic 7. TEST: By applying gentle pressure to the accelerator and brake pedals in turn, you should hear the switches click indicating they are working correctly.
Fit the left front floor panel in place and secure it using 2 x PS25 and 1 x PS08 screws, Pic 8 and then do the same with the right panel as in Pic 9.
That`s it for this update, Pic 10, I`ll be back just as soon as the next pack arrives.
