STAGE 47:

The parts in this stage are for starting the gearbox housing.

Locate the two gearbox housing parts 47A and 47B.
Fit them together and fix from behind using 2 x DP screws.
The parts will only fit one way.

Fit the external starter part 47C into the hole on the previous assembly.

Locate the rear gearbox housing, part 47D and fit it into the back of the previous assembly.
It will only fit one way.
Secure using 2 x DP screws.

Store the assembly safely for now.

STAGE 48A:

The parts in this stage are for assembling parts of the differential.

Locate the right differential housing and suspension mount, parts 48A and 48B.
Fit the parts together and fix from the inside using 2 x DM screws.

Locate the upper suspension mount and fit this to the previous assembly, fixing the parts from the inside using 2 x BM screws.

STAGE 48B:

Locate the two parts of the oil inlet and fit them together, fixing them using 1 x DP screw.

Fit the oil inlet into the differential housing. It will only fit one way.
Fix from behind using 1 x DP screw.

Locate the four different differential flange parts, 48F, 48G, 48H and 48I.
Note that they are all different.
Fit them to the stem on the differential housing in order, 48F first and 48I last.

Fit the rubber sleeve over the end of the stem and secure down the middle using 1 x DM screw.

Retrieve the gearbox housing, part 47D from the previous stage and fit it in place on the end of the differential housing, part 48A.
It will only fit one way.
Fix the parts using 2 x CM screws.

Store the assembly safely for now.

STAGE 49A:

The parts in this stage are for assembling more of the differential and gearbox.

Locate the differential housing and suspension mount, parts 49A and 49C.
Fit the parts together and fix from the other side using 2 x DM screws.

Fit the upper suspension bracket, part 49D in place on the assembly and fix from the other side using 2 x BM screws.

Retrieve the differential/gearbox assembly from stage 48.
Locate the pull rod bracket, part 49B and fit it into the slot on the top of the gearbox housing.
The part is a tight fit and you may need to remove some paint in the flange faces to get it seated properly.

Fit the mounting plate, part 49E to the internal pivots on the assembly.
The part will only fit one way.

STAGE 49B:

Retrieve the other half of the differential/gearbox housing, part 49A and fit this to the assembly trapping the pull rod bracket in place.
Fix the parts using 2 x DM screws.

Locate the four different differential flanges, parts 49F, 49G, 49H and 49I.
Fit these parts in that order over the pivot shaft on the side of the gearbox.

Fit the rubber sleeve, part 49J over the end of the shaft and fix using 1 x DM screw down the centre.

Locate the gearbox cover, part 49K and press this into place on the raised mounting on the gearbox.

Locate the ‘LOTUS’ name plate and fit this to the recess on the top of the gearbox and secure using
2 x RM screws.

Store the assembly safely for now.

STAGE 50A:

The parts in this stage are for assembling more of the differential and gearbox.

Locate the gearbox housing and lower suspension mount, parts 50A and 50C.
Fit the bracket to the housing and secure from behind using 1 x DM screw.

Locate the other gearbox housing and lower suspension mount, parts 50B and 50C.
Fit the bracket to the housing and secure from behind using 1 x DM screw.

Fit the oil tank top, part 50E to the top of the left gearbox housing, part 50A and secure using 2 x MM screws.

Fit the oil tank cap, part 50D to the top of the oil tank and fix using 1 x DP screw.

Retrieve the engine and gearbox assemblies from the previous stages.

STAGE 50B:

Fit the bracket on the gearbox assembly to the two upper shafts on the left gearbox housing, part 50A.

Fit the bracket on the engine assembly to the two lower shafts on the gearbox housing, part 50A.

Fit the right gearbox housing, part 50B in place and fix the entire assembly together using 4 x DM screws through the holes in the side of the gearbox housing.

Fit one end of the brake line, part 50F to the pin on the lower edge of the gearbox housing, part 50B.

Fit one end of the other brake line, part 50F to the pin on the lower edge of the gearbox housing, part 50A.

Locate the long engine oil hose, part 34D on the top of the engine and fit it to the pin on the edge of the gearbox housing, part 50A.

Store the assembly safely for now.

STAGE 51A:

The parts in this stage are for assembling the gear selector, tail light and oil cooler.

Fit the pin on the gear selector rod into the hole on the gear selector housing, parts 51A and 51C.
The parts will only fit one way.

Fit the assembly to the rear of the gearbox assembly and secure using 1 x DP screw.

Locate the gearbox selector housing and rear light housing, parts 51B and 51D.
Fit the parts together and fix using 1 x NP screw.

Locate the tail light housing and tail light, parts 51D and 51E.
Press-fit the parts together. They will only fit one way.

STAGE 51B:

Fit the assembly to the gear selector housing on the rear of the engine/gearbox assembly and fix using 1 x DP screw.

Locate the three parts of the oil cooler, parts 51H, 51I and 51J.
Press the parts together. They will only fit one way.

Locate the top and bottom of the oil cooler, parts 51F and 51G.
Press these parts onto the previous oil cooler assembly.
They will only fit one way.

Fit the oil cooler to the top of the gear selector housing, part 51A, locating it between the four silver pins.

Fit the two rubber bands over the oil cooler, hooking the ends on the silver pins.
This will hold the oil cooler in place.

Pull the long clear oil breather line, part 34C, under the oil cooler, to extend out over the rear of the gearbox.

Store the assembly safely for now.
