STAGE 52A:

The parts in this stage are for adding detail parts to the engine.

Locate the two oil tank fittings, parts 52A and 52B and fit them to the top of the oil tank.
They will each only fit one way.

Locate the cable and two fittings, parts 52C, 52D and 52F.
Press the three parts together.
They will each only fit one way.

Fit the orange oil hose, part 52G onto the pin on part 52F, and then fit the small pin, part 52E to the other end of the orange hose.

To fit this assembly to the engine more easily, follow the steps in stage 52B:

STAGE 52B:

Fit the pin on the end of the orange hose into the locating hole on the side of the transmission case.

Fit the pin on the black connector to the locating hole on the upper edge of the transmission case.

Remove the electrical connector, part 45E from the engine and fit one of the two pins into the black line, part 52C.

Press the electrical connector, part 45E back into place on the engine.

Locate the oil cooler hose, part 52H and press it into place under the oil cooler, and into the side of the gearbox housing.

Store the assembly safely for now.

STAGE 53:

The parts in this stage are for adding more oil pipes to the engine.

Retrieve the engine assembly.
Locate the oil cooler hose, part 53A and fit it in place between the bottom of the oil cooler and the side of the gear box.

Locate the oil hose, part 53B and fit it between the oil tank pivot, part 52B and the top of the transmission, part 50A.

Attach the small gold end plug, part 53D to the pin on the end of the breather hose, part 53C.

OPTIONAL DETAIL:
You can colour the end of the gold plug with a fine black marker pen to represent an opening.
This is purely at the builders’ discretion.


Fit the blue plug end of the hose, part 53C into the hole on the top right of the transmission housing, part 50B.
Feed the other end of the breather hose under the oil cooler, part 51F.

Fit the rear light cable, part 53E between the pin on the rear of the selector housing, part 51B and the second pin on the wiring connector, part 45E.

Feed the long clear breather hose, part 34C along the top of the transmission/gearbox, and under the oil cooler.

Fix the two hoses, parts 34C and 53C together using the cable tie, part 53F.
Cut off the excess cable tie.

Store the assembly safely for now.

STAGE 54:

The parts in this stage are for assembling part of the left rear suspension.

Locate the suspension arm and shock absorber top mount, parts 54A and 54B.
Fit the loop on the top mount between the two mounts on the arm and secure using 1 x JM screw.
Make sure the chrome mount is angled the right way – check the picture.

Fit the other suspension mount, part 54E to the other end of the suspension arm and fix using 1 x KM screw.
Make sure the dog-leg shape of the bracket is angled away from the arm.

Fit the shock absorber bottom, part 54C to the mount on the bottom of the gearbox, part 49B.
Fix from underneath using 1 x EP screw.
The shock absorber will only fit one way.

Fit the spring, part 54D over the shock absorber, part 54C.

Fit the suspension arm assembly in place by locating the chrome shock absorber top mount in the shock absorber body, and then fitting the locating pin on the end of the arm into the hole on the gearbox, just next to the shock absorber top.

Fit the angled bracket, part 54E on the other end of the arm, to the locating tab on the gearbox and secure using 2 x BM screws.

Store the assembly safely for now.

STAGE 55:

The parts in this stage are for assembling more of the left rear suspension.

Retrieve the engine assembly.

Locate the control arm, part 55A and fit the ‘Y’ shaped end to the bottom of the shock absorber mount, part 49B.
Secure from each side using 2 x DM screws.

Fit the other end of the arm into the end of the upper suspension arm, part 54A and secure using 1 x DM screw.

Locate the two lower arm parts, 55B and 55C.
Fit 55B to 55C, making sure it is angled upwards.
Secure using 1 x KM screw.

Fit this assembly to the lower edge of the transmission with the ‘O’ shaped connector fitting in between the two tabs on the transmission case, part 50C.
Fix using 1 x LM screw.
Take care here as access for fitting this screw is limited.

Fit the other end of the suspension arm 55B/55C into the two tabs near the rear of the transmission case, part 48B.
Fix using 1 x JM screw from underneath.

Fit the bracket, part 55D to the locating point on the transmission case, part 50A and fix with 1 x CM screw.

Store the assembly safely for now.

STAGE 56:

The parts in this stage are for assembling more of the left rear suspension.

Retrieve the engine assembly.

Locate the hub parts, 56A and 56B and fit them together. They will only fit one way.
Secure using 2 x BM screws.

Fit the rubber sleeve, part 56D into the hub seal, part 56D.

Insert the driveshaft, part 56E through the rubber sleeve, part 56D from the widest side.

Fit this assembly to the hub, parts 56A/56B and secure with 2 x BM screws.

Fit the driveshaft on the hub assembly into the rubber mount, part 49J on the transmission.
Locate the two mounting points on the bottom of the hub into the two locations on the lower suspension arms, parts 55B and 55C.
Secure using 2 x M screws from underneath.

Fit the top of the hub into the upper suspension arm, part 54A.
Fix using 1 x LM screw from the side.

Store the assembly safely for now.
