Unanimously regarded as one of the most beautiful prototypes in history, the Ferrari 330 P3/4 perfectly encapsulates a romantic era when motor racing was still almost a traditional craft that gave absolute priority to the construction of powerful engines and lightweight chassis.
The 330 P4, a fascinating open-top two-seater with an extraordinary 4-litre 60° V12 engine developed by engineer Franco Rocchi, with three valves per cylinder and mechanical injection, was Ferrari’s answer to the Ford GT40’s victory in the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Enzo Ferrari then asked his engineers to improve on the 330 P3 of the previous year, and they created a car equipped with a new 450 hp engine, longitudinally mounted at the rear in a tubular steel chassis reinforced with aluminum panels and complete with independent front and rear suspension.
Able to reach a top speed of 320 km/h on the Hunaudières straight at Le Mans, the 330 P4 made its international debut at the 1967 Daytona 24 Hours, where Ferrari beat Ford on home turf, marking the triumph with the symbolic procession of its three cars on the final straight.
The winner was number 23, driven by Chris Amon and Lorenzo Bandini, a P3/4 spider built in 1966, but benefiting from the engine and upgrades introduced on the new model P4s.

STAGE 1A:
Steering wheel and left headlight assembly.
Locate the steering wheel and column, parts 1A, 1B and 1C.
Fit the two column parts 1B and 1C together and secure using 1 x AM screw.
Fit the end of the column into the back of the steering wheel.
Both parts are ‘D’ shaped so they will only fit together one way.
Secure the wheel to the column using 1 x AM screw through the centre of the steering wheel.
Fit the logo badge, part 1D into place in the centre of the steering wheel, taking care to get the angle of the prancing horse upright.
Locate the headlamp parts 1I and 1H.
Press the parts together. They will only fit one way.

STAGE 1B:
Fit the lens cover part 1G into the lamp assembly, locating the small tab on the upper edge of the lens into the slot in the lamp surround, part 1H.
Locate the light bracket, part 1F and fit the light assembly in place from behind.
Fix the parts together with 2 x AP screws.
Fit the assembly into the rear of the headlight housing, part 1E and fix using 4 x AP screws from behind.

STAGE 1C:
Assemble the small turn indicator light, parts 1M and 1N and fit the light into the locating holes in the main light housing, part 1E.
Locate the main beam light parts 1K and 1L.
Press the parts together. They will only fit one way.
Press the light cover, part 1J in place on the assembly locating the small tab on the upper edge of the lens into the slot in the lamp surround, part 1K.
Fit the assembled lamp into the main light housing, part 1E.
It will only fit one way.
Store all the parts including the unused door panel safely for now.

STAGE 2:
Wheel and brake disc assembly.
Locate the tyre and wheel parts, 2A, 2B and 2C.
Fit the front of the wheel, part 2B into the tyre and hold it in place as you turn the assembly over.
Fit the rear wheel rim, part 2C in place locating the screw fixing tabs in part 2C over the screw holes in the wheel front, part 2B.
Fix the parts together using 3 x AM screws.
Fit the two brake disc parts 2E and 2F together so that the vent detail on each part is face to face.
The parts will only fit together one way.
Fix the parts together from inside the dished section using 2 x AP screws.
BUILDERS TIP:
Gently push the three-eared wheel spinner into the centre of the wheel for now so as not to lose it. Do not press it all the way in.
Store the parts safely for now.
