I received an early xmas present yesterday - the Millenium Falcon full kit. I will be building it OAB and painting it. I will probably start the build after Christmas - watch this space. Graeme pemberg attached the following image(s):

All the packs are now safely back in the box and I have made a start on the build. There were very fine casting lines on the metal parts for the laser canon which I removed with a needle file as they were bound to show when the parts are painted. I did think about priming these parts first but decided to assemble the canon to keep the parts together and then disassemble them when I come to paint the canon. The first two pics are of Issue 1 and the next three for Issue 2. All the parts fit well and went together with no problems. Graeme pemberg attached the following image(s):

I have now done Issues 3 & 4. Most of Issue 3 is test fitting various cockpit parts which I didn't do yet as these parts are painted/weathered later in issue 7 where they are then glued in place and I didn't want to make the part fitments slack by test fitting now. So all i did in Issue 3 was to fix the self adhesive door detail into the door and test fit this to the cockpit rear bulkhead. The first two pics show the parts with this issue and the door rest fitted to the bulkhead. The start of Issue 4 was completing the cockpit console which I am leaving until issue 7. The rest of the Issue was attaching more of the framework. The third pic shows the parts with issue 4 and the last two show the framework and two of the hull panels temporarily fitted. Thanks for looking in guys. Another update. The first three pics just show the contents of issues 5, 6 & 7 respectively. I have dry brushed the side panels and console and applied a wash to the front of the console. Pic 4 shows the parts after this but the lighting doesn't show the dry brushing very well. Pics 5 & 6 show the completed cockpit. I will now go back over issues 5-7 and complete the steps i have missed. Graeme pemberg attached the following image(s):

Ok is that an actual working rotary phone in the background in the very first pic, or is it one of those new phones made to look like a rotary? LOL sorry, tangent there! Great start to the build! Are you going to fix the missing armor panel lines and notches on the top panel pieces? I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates who said... "I Drank What?!?!"

Great start! Wow...having all the sets spread out over the table like that is almost intimidating! That would have been a fun way to tackle this build! If at first you don't succeed,
maybe you should skip the chainsaw juggling...

Thanks for looking in guys. I have been working on the falcon but have been a bit lax on updates so I will spread them out over a few posts. First pic shows the remaining parts from issues 6 & 7, the control panel, hold seat and bunk. I forgot to take a pic of the parts in issue 8 (got carried away with the build)so the second pic shows the seat back cushions that will be visible, filled with putty and sanded down whilst the next two pics show the seat and bunk temporarily put in place on the hold floor. Pic 5 shows the parts in Issue 9 and Pic 6 shows the outside of the 2 halves of the passage tube after the plant on detail parts have been added. Pic 7 shows the parts in Issue 10 and Pic 8 shows the completed hold door lining. Pic 9 in of the completed hold wall - still need to add a wash to the smaller instrument panel.
