This kit is a zveza Mil Mi-24V/VP Russian Federation attack helicopter gunship build diary. This kit is going to be heavily modified with lots of extra features added including but not limited to; Weapon upgrades and extra weapons storage including Hellfire missiles and a mix of Russian rocket pods and other weapons
Redesign and addition of advanced gun pods
Additional ECM and jamming pods and other electronic equipment
Active and passive radar upgrades
Addition of extra cockpit armour equipment and Zero-Zero ejection seats for pilot and weapons and ECM specialist.
Stealth internal belly weapons bay for air to air missiles
Additional armour added at strategic points
Double co-axial rotor configuration with additional stealth tail rotor.
Internal cargo pod with space for 4-6 Alpha troops
Uprated engine and heat masking workThis redesign is intended to make the Mi-24 more stealthy while still retaining the basic shape of the aircraft. It is not to make the airframe into a pure stealth aircraft as this is not possible. The next post will be a kit reveal plus a discussion regarding the upgrade packs. Below is some information about the Alpha Group: Spetsgruppa "A", also known as Alpha Group (a popular English name), or Alfa, whose official name is Directorate "A" of the FSB Special Purpose Center (TsSN FSB) (Russian: Спецназ ФСБ "Альфа"), is an elite, stand-alone sub-unit of Russia's special forces. It is a dedicated counter-terrorism task force of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), which primarily prevents and responds to violent acts in public transportation and buildings. It was created by the Soviet KGB in 1974. Although little is known about the exact nature of its primary directives, it is speculated that the unit is authorised to act under the direct control and sanction of Russia's top political leadership, similar to its sister unit, the Directorate "V" (Vympel), which is officially tasked with protecting Russia's strategic installations. It is also available for extended police duties, for paramilitary operations, and for covert operations, both domestically and internationally.

Great to see an aviation build on this forum SR, there's not enough of them in my opinion and I for one will definitely be following your build with great interest as an aviation enthusiast!
Looks a very nice kit - Zvezda do produce some nice ones - and in 1:48 scale, plus all of those intended upgrades, it should build into a very impressive model!? Great also that it's a helicopter which are always interesting subjects. Quite a dangerous looking beast though ain't it?!
Nice one that man!!

Kev. Thank you for your comments Kev, and it’s a pleasure to have you on board with this one. The Mil-24 helicopter gunship, NATO reporting name Hind, is a beast of a helicopter and was designed from the outset to be able to take a beating. It was originally envisaged to support Warsaw Pact forces in intense fighting and survive. One of its unofficial nick names is the ‘Hammer’, and when you see the weapons load it can carry, you can see why. By the way, my apologies to all regarding the pictures as I posted using my phone and didn’t know how to re-size on my phone. If anyone does know It would be much appreciated. 😎
