Good looking work Barry! Maybe could you replank the wall between the great cabin and the quarter gallery (the toilet). There was a door not a wide open space. I can't imagine Jack Aubrey sat on the seat of ease having a chat with his officers.

Think I got whacked from both sides by two wrecking balls and squished in the middle...sort of a stereo version, still, getting there though . Not sure what I'm going to do yet with the cabin, I also have a model railroad under construction (about 5 years) don't think they ever get finished. When I built some of the buildings for it the windows were finished in an opaque film..meant I didn't have to worry about interior detail but look awesome when lit at night (don't even think about digging that out of storage Barry) . Thought I might do the Surprise the same way.. Barry There's no time like the present.....

It's been a while but eventually shaking off that chest infection. Managed to spend the last couple of weeks working on my Surprise again...what a pleasure, took me a while to figure out where I was in the build and how to do stuff but after a shaky start with both the front digits and the old memory banks it slowly started to return. Note to self....never leave the build for more than a week...very important.. Got on with the job of fitting the side rubbing strakes..seemed simple enough ( never underestimate these things ) two weeks later and I had the top and bottom strakes both sides finished and then a bit of paint splashed on. Going to attack the center strakes next..reckon on about a week....here's what I have so far... Barry BarryM attached the following image(s): There's no time like the present.....

Thank you for your support gentlemen..much appreciated. When I posted the last pics I was a little disappointed, after lots of work the Surprise still looked a little bland so this weekend I spent buried deep in my cave and only surfaced for food and water although my wife did supply copious amounts of tea. The end result was very pleasing to me (still a bit of touching up to do)....there are times with this build when that little extra effort pays major dividends...this was one of those times....
