Thank you Andy, Aiden and Malc! Hi Kev, The flashing lights were done on purpose by my girlfriend with her camera. It was to mimic a press launch. Also it was styled on 'Top gear' with the narration and music. I think it looks really cool!! Chris

Hi Chris, Just had a look at the video. Really cool. Did you clear coat or polish the bodywork? Malc.

I was a bit afraid of damaging the paintwork. I am quite happy with the way it is. The only gloss I would consider is maybe the front and rear wings. Chris

A great result. Just wondering - how did you sort your engine cover fitting issues? Did you 'hot water' them, or use my fix as detailed in my build thread?
Roy.

Roy. Hi Roy, I used none of the above. My Idea was VERY simple. I had clearance of about 3mm either side of the engine cover. I had a spare set of body decals, so I used the bigger ones trimmed down a bit and added them to the bottom of the engine cover and 'Hey Presto' no gap!!! A simple and easy fix. Thanks for looking in mate. Chris

Hi guys. Just a few photos of the McLaren in it's display case. The base of my case is wood, so I bought some carbon fibre gloss vinyl (the sort you cover a car body with) and added to the base! Very effective!! Just got to get the lighting sorted now. Plenty more photos of my display in the finished gallery!! Chris

Hi guys ,,,it's been a while since I built my McLaren, but I felt something was missing... Of course! It was Lewis Hamilton's 2008 helmet, so I had one custom made to finish the car!! Looks really effective!! Hope all your McLaren builds went to plan! Regards, Chris (Shueyking)
