The parts are looking very nice and great start Have you used zero Paints before? I've heard read that they're tricky to get the hang of

Hi Dave Thanks for looking in and your comments as for zero paints there like all car type paints they just need a different approach and technique to using them. Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Hi All The engine will take some time to put together so I painted the gearbox and added the gear change levers. The basic gearbox colour is a 50% mix of gold and silver the other colours used are Semi Gloss black and Aluminium. The 1st picture is the gearbox on a Tamiya paint pot. More soon. Andy arpurchase attached the following image(s): Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Hi All A small update on progress, The engine and block have been painted and the aluminium parts given a wash to take off the fresh paint look. The cylinder head valve covers were polished to a high shine along with the carburetta tub and front fan belt pulley's these were then clear coated to preserve the shine but it also dulled down the polish slightly but also gave the parts that slightly used not shiny new look im after. The carb was painted with a 50% gold/silver mix like the gearbox [ the gold colour denotes a four barrel Carburetta] and the fuel lines added to the card and fuel distribution bar. The fan belt has been added along with the filter. Still more to be added like the distributor and leads plus other stuff. Note the gearbox has not been permanently glued in place as yet and there are more hoses to be added. I have also included some pics of the two pack diamond clearcoat I will be using from Zero paints this is an epoxy type clearcote that sets rock hard in about 30 mins and all spray equipment used must be carefully cleaned to remove all traces. More soon. Andy arpurchase attached the following image(s): Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Coming along nicely Andy. Are you going to do any washes on the engine to dirty it up a bit or leave it?

Silly me.I am really dyslexic so I sometimes miss stuff when I read.I was looking at some of Peter Wingfields car builds and he uses oil based washes on his cars. They really look great because they have some volume to them. The effect looks especially good on the chassis to give a worn, oily look. Hi Carl Im not going for the well worn look but the looked after clean look a little dirt and dust in places but no overall filth as anyone that has a real Shelby Cobra tends to look after them like there a cherished baby and there rarely allowed to get too dirty. That makes sense Andy.I think I am going to dirty up my Tipo a bit because it was just a racing machine.
