Me thinks you are too modest Derek . You're off to a great start, and no doubt a great build. Keep up the good work Gray

Thanks for looking in and the comments. As an aid to gauging the footprint size of this build I`ve constructed one of the figures from the pit crew. (The time keeper) When painted up she will have a timing board and a stop watch. Just primed for now. Two more figures today. The team manager, who having primed I can see some seam line still there to be removed and will have timer board and ear defenders added, plus the camera man who will have cameras and camera bag added. These along with some of the boxes and mechanics gear should be enough to work on the footprint size, but that`s a job for tomorrow. Thanks for all the views/comments. I`m sure the figures will paint up well as the scale should make it easier. I`m experimenting with the tarmac base at this time but this in itself may pose an issue. I have sourced a picture that is freely available on the web that both helps and hinders by build. Help: Accurate picture of the pit crew and their uniforms. Hinder: The pit surface doesn`t look like tarmac,I`m sure its some form of concrete. More investigation required. All adds to the fun. Until next time Regards delboy271155 (Derek) delboy271155 attached the following image(s): COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Hi all, This is the diorama set-up update bit. Nothing fancy, an old bit of foam for the base and figures set in place by bits of cocktail sticks. Some figures needed just one cocktail stick but those that are leaning over need two. Pic 1 shows the cameraman with stick attached, this not only helps in the dio set-up, but also with the painting as you can hold the stick and paint and then leave to dry with the stick stuck into a piece of balsa or foam. Pic 2 is the full set-up, I again apologise for the base but it was the right material and close to the correct size. Pic 3 Shows the Manager and wheelman Pic 4 Shows the Jack man - not sure if he`ll be at the front or back yet, along with the wheelman and team manager but it won`t affect the layout size so that can be decided a bit later. Pic 5 Shows the cameraman and engine tuner. and Pic 6 Shows the impatient driver and the time keeper. With the driver out of the car the quote of the team manager will be "We only have an hour practice time left" So the dio base will be approx 26" x 16" plus the fancy edging. Until next time Regards delboy271155 (Derek) delboy271155 attached the following image(s): COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"
