Only to then almost kill it off with aluminium and some "pale burnt metal".

In the end i wasn`t happy with the look - it was too bright.
So i started over with a "steel" base coat - as this was a little bit darker. I then applied some self-made filters to achieve a "gold-ish" and towards the rear end a more blue-ish tinge.
I think now it matches the look on the real thing somewhat better. DaDokta attached the following image(s): Greetings, Walter

Looks like you're starting to get the hang of that airbrush. I think the exhausts look great! -Dustin

Guys - if anyone is looking in here - i need your help!
As you can see on the attached pic of the decal sheet - a lot of decals exist in two different shades of Grey.
So which decals do i use - as they have the same number????
Is there a right or wrong or is up to my taste?
Thanks for your help!DaDokta attached the following image(s): Greetings, Walter

Hello Walter,
I am guessing that you have two different marking/colour schemes provided with this kit and that one of them is a 'low-viz' all over grey scheme, and that the other is a multi-coloured camouflage type?
If so, then the slightly paler set of decal markings, which would also include all of the various 'stencils', would normally be applied to the 'low-viz' grey scheme (in order to maintain the overall 'low-viz' aspect) and the slightly darker set would be applied in exactly the same places on the camouflaged scheme, if that is the version you wish to build. You shouldn't mix the two colours of markings together on the same model, you have to choose one or the other depending on which version of the kit you are building? Hope that makes sense?
Do you have a photo of the colour/markings page in the instruction sheet that you could post for me to check and for clarification?

Thanks Kev! That would make sense - but i`m afraid both versions, that can be built with this kit, are camouflage type paintings.
I´ll provide pics tomorrow as i`m not at home today.
I guess it will come down to the builder`s preferences - and i myself tend towards the darker ones.Greetings, Walter

Walter Hello - hope all is well with you. Not sure if the link below may help. Its a decal sheet similar to your kits with high and low vis markings. It mentions ghost grey colour used high vis Markings and the later “mod eagle” Used low vis. https://www.cybermodeler...ges/caracal_48091_p.jpg
Grey and greyish blue i think are the colours used in your kit so i personally would use the low vis markings, which looking at a few pictures seem to be the style used on the greyish blue. There are various pictures here that may help https://commons.wikimedi...r_St_Louis_IAP_2008.jpg

Thanks Tony - this was of great help.
So the lighter grey-version seems to be the way to go.
