Thanks for looking in and your comments Tom, Michal and Mark, all very much appreciated.
@ Tom - Yeah, not easy in 1:20 scale, in fact some of the parts that have to be fitted are bordering on microscopic!! Definitely going to be working on something a bit bigger when this one is finished, though I am enjoying this build, even if it is a challenge.

Hello all,
More progress made!
The resin brake calipers and various suspension parts from the 'Top Studio' set have been removed from their casting gates and prepped.
I've painted the wheel uprights and the air intake ducts, the latter then received some carbon decal and the larger rear ducts have also had small PE plates added on the driveshaft side with the centres being painted in matt black to replicate the rubber coupling boots which the driveshafts run through.
The brake discs/calipers have now been finished and the uprights added. Woven hydraulic brake hoses that run between the calipers have been replicated by 0.3mm solder wire which was then painted in a suitable metallic colour. The brake discs and pads have been marked with thin painted lines in white, red and green to replicate the identification codes as seen in my reference photos. A pin wash was added to the whole units to bring out the finer details. The brake/hub assemblies are now complete and have been safely stored, they will be fitted to the suspension arms at a later date.
More work has been done to the engine/gearbox/transmission unit with the upper suspension arms being finally glued in place and then the top strip of the gearbox being permanently glued down to hold it all in place. The shock absorbers have been fitted to the sides of the gearbox after adding a couple of scratchbuilt appendages which were missing from the resin parts. I've also scratchbuilt a length of woven metallic hose from stretched and painted sprue which runs from the gas reservoir on the front edge of the upper suspension arm to the bottom of the shock absorber on each side. Large PE ring nuts were added to the ends of the bellcranks on the outside of the upper arm with some smaller PE nuts also being added on the top fixing of the shock absorber where it connects to the bellcrank. The whole gearbox and transmission assembly was then detail painted, picking out the various nuts and bolts and finally given a pin wash to help the details stand out a bit more. Next update should see some work on the engine exhausts and various small fittings. I may also start some prep work on the floor pan.
Thanks for looking, all comments and criticisms welcomed.

Thanks for looking in and your comments Phil, very much appreciated.
Those brake calipers are indeed like miniature kits themselves and I'm pleased with how they look when finished, though they were quite a lot of work.

Hello all,
Made some progress on detailing the engine/gearbox. Was going to have the exhausts painted and fitted for this update but thought it wiser to get some of the smaller details done first.
The oil radiator, oil lines and anodised fittings have been added, the lines being wrapped in foil first to replicate the het resistant sheathing that covers them on the real car. It looks a little rough in places but it is a bit loose and puckered in reality so not too bothered about it being tight on the model! The hose that runs from the top of the final drive casing to the lower end of the gearbox should be routed through and below the nearside upper wishbone but there just isn't room so I've had to run it along the top of the gearbox, not accurate but it's all I can do.
Added a bit of scratchbuilt housing to the rear of the alternator, which isn't accurate but it will barely be seen once all of the intake manifolds and injection equipment is added but it needed something as the standard kit part just had a facia with the pulley and drive belt, so thought I'd make it a little better.
I was dreading fitting the tiny anti-roll bar and arms with all ot the tiny PE fittings that attach to the bellcranks but it actually went together much easier than I thought and looks very good once in place.
These ancillaries and anodised fittings are really getting to the limit of what can be built in such a small scale, especially as there is less and less room to manoeuvre as more and more parts are fitted. I have included the usual penny shot for scale in the final photo but you can also see in the last two or three shots where I have the whole unit balanced on the tip of a pair of tweezers, which REALLY emphasises how small this model is!!
Thanks for looking in, all comments and criticisms are welcomed.

For those who were trying to guess what the missing item was in both the standard kit and the superdetail set, all will be revealed in the next week or two as it is getting close to my needing to scratchbuild it before it becomes very hard to install. Which means it has to be in the engine/gearbox area since that is what I have been working on. Any more guesses?
Kev
