Thanks for the comments Andy David and Alan A small update I have fitted the rudder to the stern not my favourite job but very pleased with the way it turned out I have looked at the brass columns and thought I would like to try to make them look like wood. So I painted one white and when dry painted it over with a sepia wash l think it looks ok All comments welcome Rgd Martyn Martyn Ingram attached the following image(s): Building ? Completed. Thanks for the comments guys Sorry I haven't posted for a while what with work and stuff Anyway on with the build . I have made a start on the beak and have made the beakheads out of wood instead of using the PE that came with the kit along with the keel decorations Next job was the stern decorations. I cut out the centre of the carving and filed so you can see the wood underneath The cannon trucks are cast so have decided to make my own out of 1mm pine and some spare 3mm dowel for the wheels I have also been playing around with the stays and have done them with a loop and mouse at the top and heart blocks at the bottom Thanks for looking in rgd Martyn Martyn Ingram attached the following image(s): Building ? Hi all and thanks for the nice comments A bit more done on the S/F I have fitted all the stays fore and aft then the shrouds as you can see I have put sheerpoles on the shroud lines these are not in the instructions but I think they look good and they give you something to fix the futtock shrouds to I have also added catharping lines to the upper shrouds All thats left is the top shrouds on the mizzen mast then it's on to the ratlines Thanks for looking in rgd Martyn Martyn Ingram attached the following image(s): Building ?
