I can`t stand the copper-plating of my Victory any more!! :) So the lady will get some rest. Seems that there isn`t much interest in the AKAGI among the builders as there are few diaries and most of them uncomplete (even the official build). So let`s give it a try!DaDokta attached the following image(s): Greetings, Walter
Present builds: Revell B-24D Liberator 1:48
On the shelf: Italeri "Fiat Mefistofele", Italeri "Moto Guzzi California", Fokker "Red Baron", Revell Bismarck, Revell Tirpitz, Arab Dow, Stage Coach, .....

Hi DaDokta I think you may find the stern block is mounted a little low at the position you have it placed. The reason i say this is the ply deck will almost be flush with the tabs and the stern block is lined up with this deck so the etch deck plate fits correctly on the model. Another suggestion would be to plank the hull first before the fitting of the bow and stern blocks as it makes lining them up easyer. She is certainly coming on a treat regards Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Thanks Andy! The blocks are not glued yet, i just put them on the model for the pictures - also this was only the first stage of sanding - many more will come. Of course I will do the planking first and then fit the blocks. Thanky for the heads-up! Greetings, Walter

Hi DaDokta Nice start on the planking. Just one word of advice take the planks at the top up one more from where they are now as this gives you extra wood to play with when fitting the decks and it can easily be sanded back to the deck height regards Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Thanks for your comments! @tigerace Those are actually the brass pins, which came with the Victory build. I´m using them over and over again. But they are nothing special - you can get them in every model shop for a few cents. For example: ModelShopAs i am from Austria this is a german shop - but as i said you can get them anywhere. When using those nails you would need a device to put them into the wood (i don`t know the english word - nail setter?) I hope that helps! Greetings, Walter
