Wonderful work Alec, I can see you have mastered the metal plating I am so pleased for you, I to had extra work on the nose moulding in fact I had to reduce it down to knife edge to get it to fit it, but that what makes us modellers on a top forum. Hi Everyone, Feels like some good progress. Engine ready to install, hinges fitted to rudder and elevators and a dry assembly which looks ok. Still need to paint the bare edges in silver before I glue the hinges to the tailplane. There is still two small panels on the underside but they will be fitted once the tailplane is fitted to the fuselage. Hi Alec, I must say that your build is top notch, and what a great job with the tailplane, I appreciate the workmanship you have put into it. Also your engine looks the part with all the hand painting on the wires that takes some patience looking forward to your next update. Regards Trev. Nice work Alec, you are coming up to the interesting part now you are plating the fuselage, can be a bit tricky in parts, but I can see you have the skills to complete the job. Trev. Work in progress: Tombstone (Scratch) - San Francisco 2. -The Mayflower ( scratch by plan).

Thanks for looking in and the generous comments. First time today I took off a panel and will have to use a spare sheet to make a new one it's the big one that goes over the fuselage just in front of the cockpit and it was just not big enough to reach both sides and wanted to twist so some modification is required. Rather than struggle today I walked away from it and will start fresh tomorrow. Well I guess that's model making for you! Always best to walk away if things go awry Alec, you'll see things in a whole new light when you return and likely make a better job of it as a result? Very well done on your work so far.

Thanks Kev, Walking away was the right thing to do. The panel is replaced, cut from a spare sheet, the port side panels are on and so are the engine cover panels. I think it looks ok.
