Prepare Hull frame 12, and then apply glue to the indicated parts of the false keel. Place Hull frame 12 onto the end of the false keel, it should be positioned as shown at a slight angle.

Cover the deck from Stage 17, with planking. Starting from the centre and working outwards. Repeat this step for other half of deck. Leave the glue to completely dry then cut away the excess planking with a craft knife. Mark the nails on the planks with a Pencil.

Take One of the 2 x 4 x 300mm wooden strips from this stage and fold a piece of sandpaper over it. Move the sandpaper back and forth to smooth it. Apply some instant adhesive to the front edge of the quarter deck and place the wooden strip up against it. Overlapping the side by 1.5mm. As Shown in Step F of the instructions. Leave the glue to completely dry. Cut the excess strip from the other side leaving 1.5mm past the edge.

The grating pieces are each notched along one edge and these notches interlock as shown in Step H of the instructions. Fit the grating pieces together until you have assembled them into a square. Apply a small amount of instant adhesive to all the joints securing the pieces together. Leave the glue to totally dry.

Prepare tools for the following Stages, A, large sanding block, B, Small half round medium grain file, C, Large half round medium grain file, D, Small sanding block.

File or sand the top of the bulkhead so that it is flush with forecastle deck.

File the side of the frames and deck to curve smoothly from the bowsprit bulkhead to frame 5, above the projecting parts of the frame, as shown by dotted lines in Step E of the instructions.

Locate the projecting parts as shown in Step F of the instructions, Take a plank and place it on the projecting parts, Hold the plank against the frames and slowly push upwards, Ensuring the join between is smooth all the way up.

In the mid section of the hull there is less of a curve between the frames, so you can use a large sanding block here. Test the frames with a plank as in the previous step. As shown by dotted lines in Step H of the instructions.

Smooth the sides of the frames and decks aft, with the large file, Test with a plank as before. As shown in step I of the instructions, by dotted lines.

Stage 24 contains: Guns, Gun carriages, Dummy gun mounts, Nails.

Insert a nail into the nail pusher head first, Place the tip of the nail onto a frame and push forward, The stronger you push, the more the nail will penetrate the frame, After this test remove the nail from the frame.

Engaging the front of it with the projection of frame 2, As shown in Step D of the instructions. Remove the strip, and apply some glue to the areas highlighted by the red dotted line in the picture. Nail the strip to frames 2,3, and 4, Continue aft gluing and nailing the strip to the frames.

Combine the front end of Strip B, with the rear end of strip A, Apply glue to the contact points between strip B and the frames. Nail the strip to the glued side of frames as before.

You can use a small hammer to improve penetration of the nails, as the pusher may not have the strength required.
