Hi All The build starts here, a full review of the kit can be found here:- http://forum.model-space...amp;m=252600#post252600
Life colour do two IJN paint sets I have set one with set two on the way. The first thing to do was to clean up the hull casting by removing the sprue remnants and any very slight edge casting marks. This done we start on the first of the etch namely the Degaussing bar/strip that countered magnetic mines, The strip is about 0.5mm wide and in several parts that need to be attached to the hull. Next the crew bar was added. Before painting the hull the rudders and propellor shafts need to be added you can see the rudders fitted. The first of the internal etch compartments has been made up. More soon. Andy arpurchase attached the following image(s): Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Hi All Lots of undercoating and top coating going on at the moment the cast metal stand [included in the kit] was undercoated and then sprayed semi-gloss black. The hull is highly detailed so the red anti-fowling was first sprayed then masked of ander the upper hull sprayed with IJN Cure Arsenal Grey after it was dry the stand was mounted on the hull. The first internal sub-assembly to be made up is the engine room along with the engine components/shafts. The instructions say to paint the internals IJN Grey but IJN Greys are quite dark so I opted to use the lightest IJN blue/Grey which is Maizuru Grey to give a contrast. The etch engine room is made of several sections which are all joined together then the stern gun barbet is added and it all mounted in the hull with screws. The boiler room is the next sub assembly. More soon Andy arpurchase attached the following image(s): Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .
