Hi All
Never done a built log before, always seems like a lot of dedication, just building sometimes is tough enough yet so many helpful people assist us novice builders. So I will try.
Seeing a most of the time spent on this ship will be doing painting a thought I would start with the painting done on packs 1 and 2 received to date.
Be gentle.

Thanks for all the welcomes and the positive feedback on the painting. The items seem to be getting smaller as you go along. Photo of the lamp with magnifying glass which really helps a lot. Dewalds attached the following image(s):

All the work on issue 1 and 2 now done on the ship. Went together without to much fuss, struggled a little to keep the keel straight, but all seems to have gone ok, for now at least. I must at this moment admit that I am not looking forward to the hull planking as the bulkhead frame are very thin, I am sure it will not be possible to use nails. Maybe someone can recommend a nice technique going forward. The last picture's angle is not good, the actual ship is not skew (I hope not) Dewalds attached the following image(s):

She looks to be coming along very nicely however, looking at your last pic I would ask you to double check the alignment of your gallery. It may be just the way the pic has been taken but it appears to be sitting off line. Better to check this to make double sure all is perfectly square to avoid problems further into the build.... As for planking, don't be concerned over this task. Follow the instructions and the Official build, the instructions are clear and very detailed on how to carry this task out. There is nothing to stop you using planking pins but I would strongly recommend you pre-drill the pin holes first to help ensure you don't split the strips or the frames. There are differing methods of securing planking strips and you may find this topic to be helpful.... https://forum.model-spac...amp;m=269869#post269869

Thanks will have a look at the link. It is the camera angle. Amazing how you can make something look so crooked. Checked again after I took the picture

Checked again after I took the picture Always best to have these kind of things checked out. The alignment of the frames for this build is so important, any that are slightly out of alignment will give rise to problems when it comes to fitting the upper decks.... Look forward to following your progress... Regards Alan
