Thanks for all the kind words. I'm pleased with the results so far. I was afraid that my fingers were too big and dumb for all the tiny bits. Pack 2 should be here next week. Mark Currently: Soliel Royal, Deag DC-3, DeAg Ford Shelby Mustang GT 500

That`s looking very tidy. Don`t know if you have, but now is a good time to check how well the two sides of the crew compartment match up and come together before you add the detail. Keep up the good work. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Trev. Thanks Trev. Glue is not my mess of choice. It's painting of PE parts as you will see when I post my next update. Currently: Soliel Royal, Deag DC-3, DeAg Ford Shelby Mustang GT 500

Pack 2 During this session I finished the avionics and details in the left half of the crew compartment. I have found my weakness , that is painting of photo etched parts. It always looks messy. Next paint stage I am going to slow WAY down and give more dry time between coats of paint, especially between the primer and first color coat. At least the messy bits are not in full view in the completed model. Seats are next Mark mwstratton attached the following image(s): Currently: Soliel Royal, Deag DC-3, DeAg Ford Shelby Mustang GT 500

Pack 2 This session I concentrated on the crew seats. I had my first major screw up. While bending the PE seat frames I didn't pay close enough attention the the direction of the flanges that attached the seats to the side supports. Top fix this I had to grind out openings on the othe side of the seat support to allow room to attach the seat backs. A special note, when gluing the seat back halves together, make sure to clean out the glue from the notches for head rest attachment. Other than that, this was a good session. It`s looking good and you will get lots more practice with the seats and etch later in the build to perfect your skills. Like you said, take your time and when painting the etch try a practice piece first like the scrap from the etch frame. Try a light sanding with 1000 grade wet and dry first and then thin coats of paint with good amount of drying time. Keep up the good work and if you need some help/advise just ask. Pack 2 This session I finished the interior of the crew compartment and then glued the 2 halves together. No problems were encountered. Next I start skinning the exterior. See you next time. Hi Mark, Regarding painting Photo Etched parts, I was wondering if you have tried air brushing as this will give the finish you are looking for. Trev. Work in progress: Tombstone (Scratch) - San Francisco 2. -The Mayflower ( scratch by plan).

Trev. I have Trev. Problem there is I have a cheap airbrush that likes to spit paint so it overcoats small parts. I really need to invest in a better one. Thanks for the input. Mark Currently: Soliel Royal, Deag DC-3, DeAg Ford Shelby Mustang GT 500
