So how many of you had this when you was younger and not so grey. LOL

The 1/32 Matchbox SA330 Puma

I had one of these 30 odd years ago, can't remember what happened to it. But I always wanted to redo it and now is as good a time as any. The model was started last year on another forum so this is a quick show of what I've done and where it is today.

Built:-. HMS Bounty, RMS Titanic, MP4-23, Flying Scotsman, Aston Martin DB5, Honda CB750, Mustang, R2-D2, Jaguar, DeLorean, Testarossa, Stage Coach plus many plastic kits.
Dry dock no room to display:-. Bismarck, U96.
To build:-. HMS Hood. HMS Victory. Cutty Sark. SoS, Lancaster bomber. DR1 Triplane. JU-87. Plus many many plastic kits.

This was second hand when I brought it and as so was missing a couple of bits, so I brought some bits to improve the model.

The cockpit was missing a control stick and levers.

So I made some new ones.

The seats needed some work.

Main control panel is very basic.

So I added some brass bits.

And once painted.

The main cargo area was the same no real detail.

So an old kit means a lot of filling.

I also cut out the pilots step.

Added fuel dump pipes.

Added nav lights.

Added fuel filters, I believe thats what they are.

Added pipes to the landing gear.

Added and internal wall to the upper engine bay.

Removed the plastic and added some mesh.

No detail in the turbines.

So built an internal prop shaft.

Added the support to the turbines.

And some more detail.

Added detail to the main rotor head unit.

So again more detail.

And the important mould mark showing the date. Laugh

Wanted to add detail to the rear area.

So adde the prop shafts and hinges.

Little bit of detail inside.

Rear rotor head unit again has no detail.

So added some.

Now with my helicopters the main rotor blades have to be stowed, (it helps with the space)

So I needed to convert this.

To this.

With a lot of old kits theres always a gap somewhere.

I'll be having my doors open so that takes care of the issue.

I wanted to add a bulge to the tyres, So I applied some heat to a piece of metal and just pushed them into it.

This is where she is today..
