The port side gun window had to be masked from both sides - which took me about 1 hour with my eyes getting poorer and poorer!
The "Wongo Wongo" had an additional window spar - which isn`t there with the kit part.

Hello Walter. Your posting of every detail in this build is far from boring and is a bonus to those who are following your build every step of the way? I for one, as an aviation fan, am enjoying every little detail - keep it up!
If you are having trouble getting the paint in your airbrush to flow properly, that is usually a sign that your paint is too thick? Paint for airbrushing should be thinned about a ration of 50/50 paint to thinners, and sometimes more thinners than paint depending on what brand of paint you are using? Aim for a consistency similar to that of single cream and you won't be far off? Also, with paint of that consistency it is best to keep the air pressure from your compressor at roughly 15-20 psi. Higher than that and too much pressure can actually make the paint dry in the tip of the airbrush before it leaves the nozzle and worse still, if it is travelling too fast between the airbrush and the model surface, it can actually dry slightly as it passes through the air and then you'll end up with quite a 'granular' finish as though you've sprayed the model with wet sand!
So, thin the paint more and keep the pressure down and you'll likely find that the paint will flow at a much more even and constant pressure? Also try painting in several thin coats rather than one thick one and you'll get a much smoother and even finish. Try experimenting and an old model or piece of plastic card until you find the right fluidity of the paint/thinners mix and pressure combination? It can be frustrating learning to use an airbrush, and quite daunting, even confusing, but when mastered you'll never go back to using a paintbrush?!

The neutral grey was a bottle of Vallejos Model Colour Brand - which is in my opinion a little thicker than their Model Air products.
So i think i didn`t mix in enough thinner. In the meantime i sprayed some Vallejo Air colour - which works much better.
Also thanks for the heads-up regarding the air pressure - i worked with a PSI rather at 20 than 15 - will try to turn that down a little bit.Greetings,

Also in the meantime i made a big mistake.
I thought it would be a good idea to prime the PE-parts while still on the fret.
Turned out a very bad idea.
When handling, bending and glueing the parts, all the primer comes off very ugly. So please don`t do that!!
As you can see in my pics, the bomb bay ceiling look horrible at the moment, after attaching many little PE-parts.

[size=8]Despite a lot of research i couldn`t figure out the exact positioning of the navigator and the bombadier in these early versions of the B-24. But i wasn`t happy with the position of the seat and also with the size and location of the navigator`s table on Eduard`s PE-bulkhead. So i ripped out the seat, cut off the upper part and located everything so, that the navigator would sit in the right height and facing backwards. Then i tried to immitate the wood grain.

Hasn`t this been the problem of this site for many years now, that pics are not shown in a proper way?
If i look at my own posts i sometimes see one pic - after a reload an other one, very seldom can i see all pics i posted.
And of course i don`t ever know, if other visitors can see what i posted.

Looking great! I built a couple of these when I was a kid. Built may be a bit of a misnomer though. They were glue bombs!
The instrument panel looks amazing!

The seats got some seatbelts -which was a very fiddly thing to do!
