Please note - This is for the experienced modeller only.

If you opt to gloss your model then do not progress your build beyond Issue 77.

The official build will follow the un-glossed route, this is purely an option should you wish to have a gloss finish on your model.


Issue 78 - Contains the cockpit side protector, mini-wings, mini-wing stays, mini-wing holders and a head protector., and has instructions for assembling the main body 5 - Installing the brake master cylinders, add the decals to the front suspension arms, assembling the rear cowls, assembling the mini-wings and attaching the mini-wings to the rear cowl.

Items to have ready: Master cylinder – assembled in Issue 72, Suspension decals – provided with Issue 66, Induction box cowl – assembled in Issue 76 Transmission cowl – provided with Issue 66.

Installing the brake master cylinders - Take the brake master cylinder assembly from Issue 72 and test-fit it to the nose mounting plate. The L-shaped bracket fit into the slots so that they end up flush with the plate.
Apply general-purpose adhesive to the brackets with a toothpick. Press them into place, then secure with two narrow strips of tape. Turn the front hubs from left to right and make sure that the master cylinder does not foul the steering crank. If it does, reposition the master cylinder until it clears. Then leave the tape in place for allow the glue to set.

Adding the decals to the front suspension arms - Take the front suspension carbon decals that were provided with Issue 66. Note the numbers next to each one, which indicate where they are placed on the model as per the layout plan.

You may find it helpful to refer to Issues 65 and 66 for more details of the technique for applying suspension decals. This time, you are going to apply decals 7-14 to the upper sides of the suspension arms, and the colourcoded photograph shows where each one is positioned. Before you start, make sure that all these surfaces are clean and dust-free. Dust them with a dry brush if necessary, then clean with a little water on a cotton bud and allow to dry. To apply each decal, cut it out of the sheet, leaving a small border.
Using tweezers to hold the decal by the part number, soak the backing paper in lukewarm water for 20-30 seconds until the transfer slides off easily, then quickly apply this to the model. Do not touch the glue on the back of the transfer. Use a soft tissue or cotton bud to remove any excess water once the decal is in place.

Start by applying decal #7 to the left lower wishbone. Hold it with tweezers to insert it from the front, aligning the ends as shown in the steps. Apply decal #8 to the right wishbone in a similar way.

Apply decal #9 to the left pushrod, sliding the outboard end down the pushrod until the tip lines up with the part of the moulding as shown in the steps. Repeat the process to apply decal #10 to the right pushrod.

Apply decal #11 to the left upper wishbone, fitting the semi-circular notch with the mounting, and matching up the ends with the points as shown in the steps. Be careful to tuck the rear part of the decal on the forward arm under the pushrod without creasing it. Then repeat on the right of the car with decal #12.

Apply decal #13 around the top of the left upright. Start by fitting the W-shaped notch to the corresponding area on the moulding as shown in the steps. Keep the edge parallel with the edge of the moulding. The two ends will fit into recesses in the moulding. Apply decal #14 to the right upright in a similar way.

Assembling the rear cowls - Take the induction box cowl assembled in Issue 76 and the transmission cowl provided with Issue 77. They fit together along the V-shaped lines as shown in the steps, so that the pin goes into the hole.

Use a cocktail stick to apply general-purpose adhesive along the contact area identified earlier, then press the parts together and hold until the adhesive bonds. You can use use masking tape to hold the parts together until the adhesive has bonded fully, then remove the tape.

Assembling the mini wings - Each mini-wing is made up from three components, provided with this issue. Start with the three elements (numbers 3, 5 and 7 in the parts list) used to make the left-hand mini-wing. Do a dry assembly following the steps to make sure that you have not mixed up the left and right parts.

Carefully scrape the paint off both ends of the mini-wing (part 3) as shown in the steps, taking care not to damage the locating pins. Also scrape the paint off the end of the mini-wing end holder (part 7).

Use a cocktail stick to apply small dots of general purpose adhesive to the end of the mini-wing with the two pins in it. Then carefully insert the pins into the mini wing holder as shown. Press and hold for 2-3 minutes until the adhesive bonds.

Apply four dots of general-purpose adhesive to the end of the mini wing and the mini wing holder as indicated in the steps Fit these ends into the matching recesses in the mini-wing stay. You may need to apply some pressure and even flex the miniwing holder a little to do this. Hold the assembly until the adhesive bonds.
You can use a strip of masking tape to hold the assembly together firmly, making sure that both wings stay in place. Then repeat the steps to make the right-hand mini-wing. Leave the assemblies taped up for 24 hours to allow the adhesive to bond fully.

Attaching the mini wings to the rear cowl - Remove the tape from the mini-wing assemblies. Then check the ends of the mini-wing stays. If there are bumps around the edge, scrape these off flush so that the stay will fit cleanly in the next step. Do not try to remove the locating bar across the centre.

Take the left mini wing and test-fit the end into the matching recess in the transmission cowl. The locating bar fits into the slot arrowed as shown.
Cut a strip of masking tape and attach it to the mini-wing stay as shown, making sure that it does not cover the end of the stay.

Apply two dots of general-purpose adhesive to the recess in the cowl, then press the mini-wing in place, attach the tape, but hold the parts together until the adhesive bonds.

Place the cowl on a flat surface and make sure that the mini-wing is accurately positioned. Its upper edge should be parallel to the flat surface. Ensure that the tape will hold the assembly securely while the glue hardens.
Repeat the steps to fit the right-hand mini wing. Leave the assembly taped up for 24 hours to allow the adhesive to bond fully, then remove the tapes.

Assembling the cockpit side protector - The two arms of the side protector are joined by a moulding sprue that needs to be removed. Cut through the sprue at the two points indicated in the steps, then remove any remaining  flash on the underside, to leave these ends  flush and smooth.

Scrape the paint off the raised square area on the back of the head pad. If there is any moulding  flash in the area indicated, remove this to leave a flush surface.

Scrape the paint off the rectangular recess at the back of the side protector as shown. Do not go too close to the edge, and leave the last 2mm of paint in the area hatched with yellow lines. Test- fit the head pad in place to make sure that it will  fit  flush.

Apply a little ABS adhesive to the area that you stripped of paint earlier, then press the head pad into place and hold it for 2-3 minutes, then leave the assembly for an hour or so to allow the adhesive to harden.

That's it for this stage.

Issue 79 - Contains the front fairing, upper border wings and the induction pod spacer., and has instructions for assembling the engine cowls, applying the decals to the front wing and bargeboard, and fitting the bargeboard.

Issue 81 - Contains the right-hand mirror, cockpit canard, cockpit fin, pushrod & monocoque cover., and has instructions for fitting the pushrod covers on the main body, applying carbon decals to the fins & canards, fitting the display panel, pitot tube & camera, and installing the canards and on the body.

Issue 82 - Contains the mirror lenses & reflectors, tail light, windscreen, screws and a long reach screwdriver., and has instructions for fitting the mirrors and mounting the tail light onto the rear wing.

Issue 83 - Contains the side camera top & bottom, kill switch, antenna and gold reflector., and has instructions for fitting the gold reflector to the main body, installing the radiators into the sidepods and attaching the side camera.

Issue 79 - Contains the front fairing, upper border wings and the induction pod spacer., and has instructions for assembling the engine cowls, applying the decals to the front wing and bargeboard, and fitting the bargeboards and deflectors.

ITEMS TO HAVE READY: Radiators –assembled in Issue 50, Front wing – assembled in Issue 7, Bargeboards and deflectors – assembled in Issue 75, Engine cowls – provided with Issue 77, Decals – used in Issue 78 and the main body – assembled in Issue 78.

Assembling the engine cowls - Identify the left and right engine cowls provided with Issue 77. Start with the left-hand cowl and test-fit the left front fairing fence (provided this time) to it. Note how one end of the fence overhangs the cowl.

Use a cocktail stick to apply small spots of general-purpose adhesive to the points indicated in the steps, then press and hold the parts together for 2-3 minutes. Secure the parts with a strip of masking tape.

Repeat the assembly with the right-hand engine cowl and fairing fence. Leave the parts taped up for at least 24 hours to allow the glue to harden fully.

Applying decals to the front wing and bargeboard - Take the front wing assembly that you completed in Issue 7, the bargeboards from Issue 75 and the remainder of the decal sheet that you used in Issue 78. You may find it helpful to refer to the basic information on using waterslide decals that appears in Issues 65 and 66.

Use a pair of scissors to cut out the decals from the sheet, leaving a small border. Make sure the areas where they will be fitted are clean and free from dust.

Apply decal 1 to what is the silver tab the area under the left-hand side of the front wing as shown, with the longer of the two short edges facing forward. Repeat with decal 3, which goes towards the rear of the wing, then do the same on the opposite side with decals 2 and 4.

Decal 5 is applied to the curved element at the base of the left end plate. To help it to fit properly, it is a good idea to use decal softener, as explained in Issue 66, page 15. Align the straight edge the edge as shown, making sure that it does not overhang the edge outlined in blue. Gently press the decal into place using a soft cloth. Repeat on the right end plate with decal 6.

Apply decal 19 to the left bargeboard, aligning the edge with the edge shown. Repeat on the right-hand bargeboard with decal 20.

Fitting the bargeboards and deflectors - Take the main body assembled in Issue 78 and the bargeboards, deflectors and bargeboard stays from Issue 75. Note that the stays are marked L and R to identify which is left and which is right. It is a good idea to carry out dry assemblies of the following steps to make sure you know how everything fits together.

Start by test-fitting the left deflector. The two pins fit into the two holes and the projection fts into the notch. Apply a little ABS adhesive to the area around the holes and inside the notch. Press the deflector into place and hold it until the adhesive bonds, then secure the joints with two strips of masking tape.

Now, attach the right-hand deflector as a mirror image.

Take the left bargeboard stay and apply a little general-purpose adhesive between the two pins on the silver-painted end. Carefully press it into the two holes below the letter ‘g’ in ‘aigo’, making sure it is angled the right way (forwards and down). Hold it for 2-3 minutes, and then carry on assembling the bargeboards before the glue hardens to the point where the stay is held completely rigidly.

Take the left bargeboard and check the contact areas. The end of the stay fits into the hole, and the edge shown fits along where the two areas shown meet each other. Then apply a little ABS adhesive to the contact points and secure into place. Hold it firmly until the glue bonds, then secure it with masking.
Repeat the steps on the right-hand side of the car and leave the parts taped up for 24 hours to allow the glue to harden fully.

DETAILING THE RADIATORS - This process is optional, but you may wish to add a little extra depth to the radiators by overpainting the silver finish with black to add definition. If you decide to do this, you will need to do it before fitting the radiators to the car, (the process is described in the magazine)

That's it for this stage, set the nose, main body assembly and engine cowls aside for later assembly. Keep the unused parts and remaining decals safely until it’s time to fit them.

Future issues:

Assembling and fitting the induction box - The rear cowl can be a tight fit around the existing induction box, therefore an alternative has been provided.

Assemble the induction box as before using ABS adhesive.

Remove the existing induction box from the car by first removing its four securing screws, then place the new induction box in place and secure with the screws.

Fitting the induction pod cowl - Take the induction pod cowl that yiou assembled in Issue 71, and test-fit the pod over the induction box.

Carefully apply a little general purpose adhesive along the contact lines then fit the cowl back in place and hold until the glue bonds.

That's it for this stage, carefully store the remaining parts.

The final issues:

Issue 81 - Contains the right-hand mirror, cockpit canard, cockpit fin, pushrod & monocoque cover., and has instructions for fitting the pushrod covers on the main body, applying carbon decals to the fins & canards, fitting the display panel, pitot tube & camera, and installing the canards and on the body.

Issue 81 - Contains the right-hand mirror, a cockpit canard & fin, pushrod & monocoque cover., and has instructions for fitting the pushrod covers, applying carbon decals to the fins & canards, fitting the display panel, pitot tube & camera, and installing the canards and fins onto the body.

ITEMS TO HAVE READY: Pitot tube – provided with Issue 9, Top camera – provided in Issue 14, Display panel – provided with Issue 54, Main body – assembled in Issue 80, Decal sheet – left, over from Issue 79 and the remaining parts from issue 80.

Fitting the pushrod covers - Take the main body assembly and the left and right pushrod covers.
Test-fit them in place to determine which is which, then secure them in place using paper-thin double-sided tape to the underside of each pushrod cover, (which is to gain access should the need arise).

Applying the decals to the fins and canards - Lay out the fins, canards and decals as shown so that you can match them to the numbered decals . It may help to check page 19 to see which way up they go, as the decals need to be placed on the undersides of these parts.

Apply decal 15 to the left fin, then repeat with the decal 16 and the right fin.

Apply decal 17 to the left canard, then repeat with decal 18 and the right canard.

Set them aside to dry.

Fitting the display panel, pitot tube and camera - Retrieve the camera provided with Issue 14, the pitot tube provided with Issue 9, and the display panel provided with Issue 54.

Test-fit, then glue display pane at the front of the cockpit. Locate its three pins into the holes on the panel, (its straight edge should be at the top).

Test-fit, then glue the pitot tube at its mounting point, the two probes face forward.

Test-fit, then glue the camera to the top of the induction box cowl, making sure it is level.

Installing the canards and fins onto the main body - Test-fit the left canard to the main body as shown, then apply a little multi-purpose adhesive to the edge of the mounting hole in the body, then press and hold the canard in place, and use masking tape to hold it in place while the glue sets.

Test-fit the left fin to the main body, then carefully apply a little multi-purpose adhesive along the centre of the notch, then press and hold the fin in place until the glue takes hold, Use masking tape to secure it to the body, making sure it is level.

Repeat the canard and fin fitting process on the right of the main body. Make sure they are all aligned at matching angles, and leave the tape in place for 24 hours.

That's it for this stage, carefully store the remaining mirror and monocoque cover parts.

Future issues:

Issue 82 - Contains the mirror lenses & reflectors, tail light, windscreen, screws and a long reach screwdriver., and has instructions for fitting the mirrors and mounting the tail light onto the rear wing.

Issue 83 - Contains the side camera top & bottom, kill switch, antenna and gold reflector., and has instructions for fitting the gold reflector to the main body, installing the radiators into the sidepods and attaching the side camera.

Issue 82 - Contains the mirror lenses & reflectors, tail light, windscreen, screws and a long reach screwdriver., and has instructions for fitting the mirrors and mounting the tail light onto the rear wing.

Preparing the mirrors - Take the left and right mirrors that were supplied with Issues 80 and 81.

Peel one of the silver reflectors off the release paper and apply it to one of the mirror lenses, then trim off any excess. Leave the blue protective film in place for now.

Apply small dots of general-purpose adhesive to the recess in the left mirror. Carefully press the lens into place and hold it for 2-3 minutes until the adhesive bonds. Then repeat the process for the other mirror.

Fitting the mirrors - Test-fit the left mirror to the recess on the front left corner of the cockpit. Then apply a little multi-purpose adhesive to the contact area of the mirror as shown in the steps. Press the mirror into place until the adhesive bonds, then secure it with masking tape.

Fit the right-hand mirror in the same way. Make sure both are correctly aligned and leave for 24 hours before removing the tape. Then peel off the blue protective  lm from the mirrors.If it is diffcult to lift this, try sticking a piece of adhesive tape to the surface to pull the film free.

Fitting the tail light on to the rear wing - Retrieve the rear wing assembled in Issue 16.

Test-fit the tail light to the rear wing to make sure you have it the right way round. The upper corners are slightly rounded and the outer surface is  at while the inner surface is dimpled.

Apply small dots of general-purpose adhesive to the recess in the wing as indicated by the red dots. Carefully press the light into place and hold it for 2-3 minutes.

Secure the light with masking tape and leave it for at least 24 hours before removing the tape.

Thats it for this week, carefully store the remaining items.

Final Issues:

Issue 83 - Contains the side camera top & bottom, kill switch, antenna and gold reflector., and has instructions for fitting the gold reflector to the main body, installing the radiators into the sidepods and attaching the side camera.

Issue 84 - Contains the front and rear skid blocks, muffler decals and exhaust connectors., and has instructions for fitting the exhaust connectors and fitting the skid block.

ITEMS TO HAVE READY: Radiators – assembled in Issue 50, Radiator hoses – assembled in Issue 50, Sidepod spacer – provided with Issue 79, Main body – assembled in Issue 82,

Fitting the gold radiator heat reflectors to the main body - Take the gold reflector and mark the lines as shown to form the two shapes. Then Crumple the reflectors as before.

Take the main body assembly. Peel off the backing paper from the left reflector and carefully insert it using tweezers. Align the edges as shown in the steps, then put it in place taking care to retain the crumpled finish, then trim the reflector as shown in the steps.

Install the second gold reflector on the right-hand side of the body in the same way.

Fitting the sidepod spacer - Test-fit the spacer (provided with issue 79) into the left-hand sidepod as shown in the step. Stick a piece of double-sided tape to the spacer so that it covers the flat area that contacted the main body in the previous step, then trim the tape as shown.
Then fit the spacer back in position and press it against the body until the tape takes hold. (No side-pod spacer was fitted to the opposite side of the car).

Installing the radiators into the sidepods - Take the radiators and hoses that you assembled in Issue 50. Test-fit the left radiator into the left sidepod as shown, and practise fitting the radiator until you can do it smoothly.
Carefully apply ABS adhesive along the lines indicated, taking care not to get glue on any painted surfaces. Fit the radiator back in place and hold it until the glue bonds. Then secure the top end with a strip of masking tape.

Test-fit the left radiator hose as shown in the steps. Keeping the end of the hose plugged into the body, swing the triangular end up and back so that you can apply glue to it. Use a small amount of general purpose adhesive along the line indicated, then swing the hose back in place and hold it until the glue bonds. Secure it to the radiator with a strip of masking tape.

Fit the radiator and hose to the right of the car in the same way. Leave all the masking tape in place for 24 hours to allow the glue to bond fully.

Attaching the side camera - Separate the two halves and apply dots of general-purpose adhesive as indicated by the red dots. Press the two halves back together, then tape the assembly with masking tape as shown, making sure that the two locating pins are not obstructed.

Test-fit the two pins of the camera into the cowl, noting which way round the camera fits. Remove the camera and apply general-purpose adhesive, then press the camera into place and secure with masking tape. Leave for 24 hours to allow the glue to set fully.

Thats it for this week. With the radiators in place, the mechanical parts and main body are almost complete, ready for final assembly. Keep the unused parts safe until then.

Final issues:

Issue 84 - Contains the front and rear skid blocks, muffler decals and exhaust connectors., and has instructions for fitting the exhaust connectors and fitting the skid block.

Issue 84 - Contains the front and rear skid blocks, muffler decals and exhaust connectors., and has instructions for fitting the exhaust connectors & decals, and skid blocks.

Detailing the exhaust pipes - Take the exhaust connectors and separate four of them from the sprue by cutting along the lines indicated in the step. (There are two spare connectors on the sprue).

Note the eight flanges on the exhaust manifolds and pipes. Then use a cocktail stick to apply small spots of general-purpose adhesive to the ends of each connector. Then glue the connectors across each pair of  flanges.

Cut-out and apply the two self-adhesive muffler decals into the ends of the exhaust pipes.

Fitting the skid blocks - Make sure that any moulding marks on the blocks are flush, by scraping them with a craft knife if necessary.
Carefully protect and support the model upside down, then test-fit the front part of the skid block to the underside of the main body, locating its alignment pin with the hole on the chassis. Then slide the tab on the end of the rear block the slot in the front block.
When happy with the fit, apply general purpose adhesive in the area's shown in the steps and fit the blocks into place, making sure that the shorter one is fitted first.
Make sure both are exactly centred, then tape down along the edges, and leave for 24 hours to allow the glue to harden completely before removing the tape.

Store the car the right way up until the final stage.

Well here we are at the Final Issue (85) - Which contains two sheets of waterslide bodywork decals.

We will complete the model by fitting the wings and removable body panels, add the panel lines and sponsor logos that cover the external bodywork, and finish off by adding various small details and wheels.

ITEMS TO HAVE READY: All sub-assemblies and small items not yet fitted, Phillips screwdriver Wheel wrench – provided with Issue 8, Long Phillips screwdriver – provided with Issue 82.

Fitting the wings and body panels - Take the rear wing assembly, monocoque covers, nose/front wing assembly, rear and side engine cowl assemblies and cockpit side protector assembled in previous issues.
You will also need six Type ‘A’ screws retained from previous issues, and one Type ‘K’ screw, as provided in Issue 82.

Fit the four locating pins on the nose into the holes in the main body. The nose assembly is retained by Type ‘A’ screws, which are inserted through the holes.
To reach past the front suspension to the holes, you will need the long Phillips screwdriver provided with Issue 82. Use a small piece of masking tape to hold each screw in place while you fit it in the hole, and do not overtighten the screws.

Fit the rear wing assembly over the rear of the main body so that the pins fit into the holes, then insert a Type ‘K’ screw through the indicated hole and tighten it from below. Apply light pressure to keep the rear wing assembly in place and do not overtighten the screw.

Fit the left radiator cowl over the left sidepod, locating the recesses over the tabs. Repeat this on the right-hand side of the car.

Fit the engine cowl in place, noting the numerous locating points shown in the steps.. The cowl is retained by inserting a Type ‘A’ screw through each rear fairing fence into the holes in the ends of the wings at the rear of the cowl. Do not overtighten them or you may crack the wing.

Fit the cockpit side protector over the cockpit, which simply pushes into place.

Cut strips of masking tape and apply them in the positions shown in the magazine, which is to retain the removable body panels while you apply the line decals in the next stage.

Decals - The line decals for the left and right of the car appear on the left and right of the lower picture and are mirror images, but note that the logos on the other sheet are not symmetrical on the left and right. Before applying any decal, check that you have identified its number correctly, then cut it out from the sheet leaving a small border.
When applying the line decals, take care to follow the position in the photographs, as they do not all follow the prepainted lines.
Use decal softener to help the decals fit over the curves. When applying long decals, moisten the body panel with clean water to allow the decal to slide freely.
I won't be showing a blow-by-blow acount of applying the decals as the process is best followed from the magazine steps.

Apply the decals to the side cowls, the line decals of main bodyand line decals of the nose as shown in the magazine.

Take the self-adhesive Mercedes logo decal that was provided with Issue 2. Carefully cut around its edge as shown by the dotted line indicated in the magazine. Remove the release paper, and apply the decal to the nose on top of the nose decal previouslly applied (#6) as shown in the steps, then apply McLaren name decal (#45) just below it.

Fitting the front wing element - Take the remaining front wing element, apply ABS adhesive to the recesses on the underside of the front wing, and apply a tiny dot to the tip of the support. Then fit the wing element onto the front wing assembly.
Press the wing into place and hold it for 2-3 minutes until the glue takes hold. Then tape the wing in place with strips of masking tape and leave this in place until the glue has fully bonded.

Now apply the logo decals to the nose and rear body work as shown in the magazine.

Install the kill switch and antenna - Take the kill switch and the antenna provided with Issue 83. Apply a tiny amount of general-purpose adhesive to the end of the antenna indicated by the red arrow. Insert it vertically through a hole in decal #46.
Apply a tiny amount of general-purpose adhesive to the pin on the kill switch. Insert it at right angles to the body through the hole in decal #62. Avoid touching the antenna and the kill switch for 24 hours to allow the glue to bond fully.

Fitting the wheels and Steering Wheel - Take the wheels, wheel covers, wheel nuts and steering wheel. Lay them out, noting the direction arrows which show the direction of rotation of the tyres. You will also need the wheel wrench that was supplied with Issue 8.

Place the body on a temporary support to raise it by about 2cm from your work surface. Fit the left front wheel followed by the wheel cover, then carefully fit the wheel wrench onto the matching internal projections in the wheel cover and tighten it to secure the wheel but do not tighten fully.
Repeat for the right front wheel, then turn the wheel covers until the opening is facing forwards and down as shown. Tighten the covers until they are firmly held in place but the wheels are still free to turn.

Fit the left and right rear wheels in a similar way to the front wheels. Use the wheel wrench to tighten the nuts until the wheels are just free to turn without binding.

Fit the steering wheel into the steering shaft, ensuring that it is the right way up. If you angle the front wheels from side to side, the steering wheel should follow, but do not attempt to turn the steering wheel to angle the front wheels.

Options:

The windscreen provided with Issue 82 was not fitted to the car when it raced in the 2008 British GP. However, if you would like to display the car with this option in place, attach small pieces of double-sided tape to the four points indicated and attach it to the front of the cockpit as shown in the magazine.

You may prefer to omit the front wheel covers and secure the front wheels using the spare wheel nuts provided. This will allow you to see the front brake and caliper detail.

The McLaren MP4-23 is now complete!

Displaying your model:

Location - Avoid displaying your model in locations exposed to direct sunlight or bright lighting, which could cause the  finish to discolour. Avoid extremes of temperature, damp or humidity.

Tyres - If the tyres start to appear dull after a period on display, you can freshen them up by applying a new coating of silicone oil in the same way as before.

Steering - Never try to turn the front wheels by moving the steering wheel, as you risk damaging the linkage. Instead, turn the wheels and the steering wheel will follow.

Remember, the model is not a toy and is not designed for use in play.

Decals - Some of the surface decals are delicate and can easily be damaged by careless handling. If you find you need to dust the model after a period on display, use an air duster as supplied for use on cameras, or a very soft brush. A display case will protect your model from airborne dust.
