Hi all, managed to find some quality build time over this weekend to move this one forward a little, finally finished issue 122 with only the cat heads to attach to the anchor cranes, they are drying right now and will be fitted tomorrow... Remainder of issue 122 had me fitting 4 of the lower mainstays, quite a straight forward task, the difficult part was getting the tension on the lines just right. .. Finished that and moved onto fitting the crow feet to the lower mainstays, again straight forward apart from tensioning, got there in the end though and am happy with how it turned out... .. Issue 123 will start with the painting of yet more bling and fitting more of mainstays so until then, happy building all..... Regards Alan Gandale attached the following image(s):

Beautiful, neat work as ever Alan! Getting the tension just right is so important (and so easy to overdo it!) but yours is spot on. Mind you, I can remember trying to do that on the old Airfix plastic Victory, talk about a graceful curve (and I mean the mainmast not the rigging!) Keep them coming mate - beautiful! Robin First wooden ship: The Grimsby 12 Gun 'Frigate' by Constructo Second: Bounty DelPrado Part Works Third: HMS Victory DelPrado Part Works 1/100 scale Diorama of the Battle of the Brandywine from the American Revolutionary War Diorama of the Battle of New Falkland (unfinished sci-fi), Great War Centenary Diorama of the Messines Ridge Assault Index for the Victory diary is on page 1

Robin Thanks Robin, appreciated.... .. You're spot on, it is so easy to over tension and start pulling everything out of alignment, finding it is taking a lot of patience to get it just right.... .. Thanks again... Regards Alan

I've been keeping track on a lot of your work Ken and in my opinion I wouldn't underestimate your skills. From what I can see you could certainly take on a build like this and make a wonderful job of it too.... You should consider taking one on and having a go as a long term project and doing your smaller dio's to break up some of the build sessions.... You've got the ability and the patience..... Regards Alan
