Hello Alan, Thank you for your comments always welcome and for telling me about those day's, for me long gone but always remembered. That was about the time I started my modelling career my favourite kit at the time was a Gloster Javelin made in balsa loved it. Alan I have just recently received a full plan of the Javelin and I will be building it at a much larger scale, this also will sit with the Spitfire,so like yourself the Javelin takes me back to my early years of modelling. Hi All, Just a small update so far, the build itself to me I think is going very well there has been a few adjustments here and there but nothing that cannot be fixed to square up. So far I have glued and clamped the centre section, I have posted some pictures to show. More to follow thank you for your time, Regards Trev. Hi Trevor, That looks darn good to me matey. I`ve used a similar method on the rear fuselage panels to get them in line. Awaiting pack three as we speak. The thing I like with this kit is that you can see the lines early in the build. Keep up the good work. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Hi Delboy, Thanks for your reply, when you receive stage 3 make sure you number them 1-3 as shown this is very important look at the shape and inside pattern of the wing rib's, when you glue the rib's to the spar again check first you have the correct rib by the number and shape,I have not glued my wing ribs yet but will post some more pictures at the stage I am at. Hello Gandale, Thank you for your time looking at my Spit build, I must say that even the wife find's the build interesting that's a first. I did say to her that it would be a much better build if my lathe was replaced by Christmas, and that part number was a arm's reach. Getting back to the build I am dry fitting wing ribs at the moment and will post pictures asap. Regards trev. Hi Spitfire builders and friends, this is a short update on progress to now. I have now moved on to the Starboard wing section following Mr T's build and the download from Model Space, I found in my case it was best to layout all the rib sections a few times first before final gluing just to be sure I had all in the correct order. At this stage I found it best to look at plans and most of all to look at the inner shapes of each rib to be sure how they run. I have not glued the rib's to the spar as yet as I feel that I need all wing parts first before I assemble to avoid wing warp, which as I see it will happen if not pinned down securely, I have taken a few pictures for you to look at to show my progress to date. Thank you for your time. Regards Trev. Work in progress: Tombstone (Scratch) - San Francisco 2. -The Mayflower ( scratch by plan).

Hi Trev, Nicely done mate. Can`t wait to see how you pin that, as it`s been a long since I`ve done that and then the parts were pinned directly over a plan. Keep up the good work, watching with interest. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Hi Derek, Spent a bit of time with the Starboard wing placing the ribs in the correct order but got there in the end, I am sure you will enjoy this part, next bit is to glue it all together and set with out warp as you say It will be difficult to pin down we will see. Hi Alan, Thank you for your new post, yes it will be a large build but what fun, I had to re-address my building area to build this one. The point now I have time to do a bit more to the Victory which is long over due. Regards Trev. Work in progress: Tombstone (Scratch) - San Francisco 2. -The Mayflower ( scratch by plan).
